Jesse "Clint" Clinton Horne, III
Funeral services for Jesse Clinton “Clint” Horne, III, 63, of Rayville, Louisiana, wiere held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 18, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Rayville, Louisiana. Dr. Eddie Wren, Bro. James Doughty, and Dr. Justin Clark will officiate. Interment was at Rayville Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home of Rayville.
Clint was born on November 4, 1962, in Baldwin, Mississippi, and passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at his home of 26 years, surrounded by his loving family.
A true Mississippi man, Clint spent his entire working life around cotton gins. He began working alongside his daddy at the gin, learning the trade and developing the skills that would become such an important part of his life. In 2000, Clint and his family moved to Rayville, Louisiana, where he continued his career running a Mote Plant in Holly Ridge, Louisiana.
On December 10, 1987, Clint met the love of his life, Eva. Just 20 days later, on December 30, 1987, they were married and began a blessed and full life together. For nearly 39 years, they built a life filled with love, laughter, family, and countless memories. Together, they lived in Slaughter, Mississippi, where they welcomed their two sons, Jess and Drew, before making their home in Rayville in 2000.
Clint loved anything with a motor. Boats, race trucks, tractors, dirt bikes—you name it, Clint could usually be found either riding it, working on it, or fixing something he had broken while having a good time. Many afternoons and weekends were spent tinkering, repairing, and finding his next project. He was a jack of all trades and a master of most, always willing to lend his knowledge, his time, and his hands to anyone who needed them.
That love of all things with a motor only grew when Clint became “Poppa.” His grandchildren quickly became his favorite passengers and partners in adventure. He could often be found on the tractor with at least one grandbaby sitting on his lap, taking them along for a ride. If there was something they probably weren’t supposed to be riding on, there was a good chance Poppa had them on it anyway. Those moments became some of the most treasured memories for his grandchildren and family.
Clint was a man of few words, but he rarely needed many. A smirk, an eye roll, or a simple look could say everything that needed to be said. He was never one to make a show of his love, but he never failed to show it through his actions. He was the definition of a helping hand—the kind of person who would quietly show up, figure out what needed to be done, and get to work.
More than anything, Clint was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was the kind of man whose presence made life better simply by being there. To his family, he was more than the best husband, Daddy, and Poppa; he was a steady source of love, strength, humor, and unconditional support. He was a friend you were blessed to have and a man you were privileged to know.
Clint was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Ann Glover Horne, and his brother-in-law, Rowell Anthony Rickitts.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 39 years, Eva Horne; sons, Jess Horne (Brittany) and Drew Horne (Linda Claire); grandchildren, Jesse Horne, Sawyer Horne, Georgie Horne, Rawls Horne, Camille Horne, and Daniel Horne; father, J.C. Horne, Jr.; sister, Christi Horne Walker (Rodney); and nieces, Channing McPherson (Josh) and Allie Robbins (Haden); Brother-In-Law, Felix Rickitts.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 18, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Rayville, Louisiana.
Pallbearers wer Dr. Tyler Heath, Dr. Chris Morris, David Branch, Beau Logan, Johnny B. Hoychick, and Clark Atkinson.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Kevin Carlisle, Clayton Morris, Orie Morris, David Joe Branch, Logan Morris, Wayne Cox, Ben Cox, Caleb Cox, and Cory Blaylock.
Clint will be deeply missed and mourned by all who loved him. His family finds comfort in knowing that he is now strong, completely healed, and at peace, working on whatever it is that Jesus has waiting for him in Heaven.
Our Poppa will forever live on in the memories, stories, and love he left behind. Though our hearts are heavy with his absence, we are grateful for the beautiful life he shared with us and for the blessing of having called him ours.
