A little circus magic, creativity, and community!

Nova Leap Home Health Charleston was pleased to join Aging Gracefully for a special Circus Week celebration filled with creativity, connection, and plenty of fun. Seniors enjoyed decorating 135 homemade sugar cookies with 15 colors of royal icing, creating an afternoon full of laughter and memorable moments.

Engaging activities like cookie decorating provide opportunities to support hand-eye coordination, creativity, movement, and meaningful social connection, all of which contribute to healthy and active aging. We are grateful to be part of experiences that bring seniors together and celebrate the joy of community.

The Nova Leap Home Health Holyoke, MA team was honored to spend today giving back to local Veterans. Our team cooked and served a meal for 70 Veterans at St. Paul’s Church in Holyoke, creating an opportunity to connect and show our appreciation for those who have served our country.

We were also grateful to connect with the Holyoke and South Hadley Veterans’ Service Officers and strengthen relationships with those supporting Veterans in our community.

Thank you to Cassy, Sharon, Jen, Catherine, our VP Melissa, and everyone who helped make this meaningful day possible. We are proud to support and serve our local Veterans and the communities we call home.

Nova Leap Home Health - Charleston had such a wonderful time yesterday at Somerby of Mount Pleasant for our Fall Wreath Door Hanger Making Class!

Residents got creative with fall colors, flowers, pumpkins, and plenty of festive touches to create beautiful decorations for their doors. But the best part was the laughter, conversation, and time spent together.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the afternoon so much fun! We loved seeing each unique creation and sharing a little fall joy with the Somerby community. We are already looking forward to our next time together!

Please join us in congratulating Betty McGirt on her promotion to Caregiver Manager with Nova Leap Home Health in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Betty’s journey with our team began back when we were My Choice. Inspired by her Granny, she has been working in caregiving since she was 19 years old. After spending much of her career in skilled nursing, Betty wanted to find new ways to serve the senior community. When she discovered My Choice, she immediately connected with our mission and has been part of the team ever since.

In her new role, Betty is looking forward to learning, developing new skills, and continuing to grow professionally. One lesson that has shaped her career is the importance of listening without assumptions or judgment, communicating effectively, and responding rather than reacting. For Betty, one of the most rewarding parts of her work is seeing the gratitude from the clients, caregivers, and families we serve. Her motivation comes from knowing that people are in need and having the passion to help, whether that means connecting someone with the right caregiver or providing care herself.

When asked to describe our company culture, Betty said it is professional, understanding, welcoming, and serves with integrity. We could not agree more. Outside of work, Betty enjoys spending time with family, relaxing with her cat and dog, swimming, and taking road trips to OU football games.

A fun fact about Betty: When she went into labor with her daughter, icy and impassable roads made the nearest hospital 30 miles away. Her family stopped at a local police station, where the police chief ended up delivering her daughter. It is certainly a birth story she will never forget.

Congratulations, Betty, on this exciting new chapter. We are grateful for all you do for our clients, caregivers, families, and team, and we look forward to seeing all that you accomplish in your new role.
