🔎 Mohs Surgery vs. SRT: What’s the Difference?

When you’re diagnosed with skin cancer, you may have questions about your treatment options—including Mohs surgery and Superficial Radiation Therapy (SRT).

🔬 Mohs Surgery removes skin cancer layer by layer while examining the tissue under a microscope during the procedure. This helps your provider confirm that the cancer has been completely removed while preserving as much healthy tissue as possible.

✨ SRT uses targeted radiation to treat certain skin cancers without surgery. It may be an option for some patients who aren’t candidates for surgery or who prefer a non-surgical approach.

We now have a narrow band UVB light box in the Exeter office!

Narrowband UVB can be used to treat psoriasis, eczema, and generalized itching or pruritus. It is a safe and effective treatment when patients do not respond to topical therapy. Unlike many of the new medications used to treat psoriasis and eczema, UV therapy is usually covered by insurance, including Medicare.
