To commemorate the Winter Solstice, here are some of our top winter foot care tips!
βοΈ Keep Your Feet Clean & Dry - Thick socks and boots will keep us warm, but can also cause our feet to sweat quite a bit. To avoid any infections, try moisture wicking socks and foot powder to help absorb perspiration. And when coming in from snowy activities, allow your shoes to dry before wearing them again!
βοΈ Wear the Right Shoes - No matter what winter activities you partake in, make sure to wear proper shoes! You should have enough room to wiggle your toes, bu not so much room that your heels slide. Consider getting a pair of orthotics for extra comfort.
βοΈ Warm Up Your Muscles - Cold temperatures make it harder for our body to be flexible, that includes our feet! Stretch out or jog in place for a couple minutes to get your body moving.
βοΈKeep Toenails Trimmed - Sometimes its harder to remember when our feet are always covered, bu it is just as important to avoid breakage and ingrown toenails!
βοΈMoisturize Regularly - Cold, dry air is harsh on the skin. While you moisturize your face and hands, remember your feet need some TLC as well! Make sure your feet are clean and dry before applying, this can prevent dry cracked skin and calluses! If your feet are really dry, put on a heavy lotion or foot cream before bed and use socks to lock in the moisture.
We hope these tips help you this winter!π£
