“She may have started as his nurse, but somewhere along the way, she became part of our family—and we couldn't imagine our journey without her.” 💙
As Analisa Kramer celebrates 20 years with Hiawatha Homecare, her current client’s family puts into words what her care has meant to them.
For three years, Analisa has been there through their son’s good days, hard days, and unpredictable days. Along the way, she has learned the details that make him who he is: his personality, his likes and dislikes, and all the ways he communicates without speaking.
“One of the things that means the most to us is the way she talks to him,” his parents share. “She tells him about her day, asks him questions, jokes with him, and includes him in conversations just like anyone else.”
“She sees the little boy behind the disability, and she never makes him feel like he is missing out simply because he can't respond with words.”
These connections are part of what Analisa loves about her work. Over two decades, she has found joy in giving children thoughtful care and love, and watching them grow and develop. Their progress, she says, is “heartwarming and exciting.” She’s grateful, too, for the families who create safe, trusting environments for that care.
Her client’s parents share the sentiment.
“She has given us something that is incredibly valuable as parents of a medically complex child: trust. We know he is safe, cared for, listened to, and loved when he is with her.”
And while this month marks a big milestone, they’re hoping there are plenty more years ahead. Their official position? Analisa is “not allowed to retire.” 😂
Happy 20th anniversary, Analisa! Thank you for the care you give, the relationships you build, and the everyday moments you make meaningful. 💙
