I’ve been doing this work for 10 years and this is what I’ve learned….
— Most surgeons still aren’t recommending post-op care. If you can walk, you should be receiving post op care. (I’ve seen clients with their drains in still. Im serious about this)
— Clients who choose post-opt care heal better, heal faster and have less post-op issues like pain, swelling, numbness, tingling, discomfort, etc.
— Women spend THOUSANDS of $$ to heal through reconstruction on their bodies to match the vision they have, then don’t factor in post-op care. And a lot of times, they find me months, years, later. And wish they had started sooner. If your surgery is voluntary (or not) you need to budget for the procedure, and the post-op care.
— Post-op care is more vulnerable, more sensitive and more emotional than most women are led to believe. And I think it’s because if women KNEW, they wouldn’t do it.
— Many clients have emotional release when they come to me immediately post-op. This is normal and I encourage it. Your body just went through hell, voluntary or not. Surgery is no joke. Your body will need assistance to move through those emotions. Crying is common. But the relief that follows is healing and worth it.
— Post-op clients with BIG C, mastectomy, chemo, radiation often struggle with lymphedema. Massage can improve this. However often times the damage is done if not addressed right away. This is not to fear monger. This is what I SEE, ALOT. Lymphatic treatments immediately post op should be mandatory for all clients journeying through healing from C.

If you’ve had any of these surgeries, and have not received post op care, you should. I am located in SoCal. Do your research. Find a provider with experience, it makes a HUGE difference. 💖
