Celebrating 15 amazing years of caring for our community!

What started as a vision by Dr. Niki and Dr. Eileen has grown into a place filled with compassion, dedication, and lifelong connections. And from day one, Sherry and Mary Kate have been right there alongside them, helping build the heart of PWG into what it is today.

We’re so grateful for every family who has trusted us over the years. Here’s to 15 years of care, growth, and community—and many more to come!

Vitamin D is essential from the very start of life. It helps babies absorb calcium and phosphorus, which are key building blocks for strong, healthy bones and teeth.

Without enough, little ones are at risk for rickets, a condition that softens and weakens growing bones.

But it doesn’t stop there, vitamin D also supports the immune system and may even play a role in mental health later in life.

That is why we recommend starting Vitamin D shortly after birth. Babies under 12 months need 400 IU daily to support healthy growth and development.

Talk to your pediatrician if you have any questions about vitamin D for your baby.

March is National Nutrition Month🥗

So let’s talk about picky eating! Here are 7 simple tips to help turn picky eating into a more stress-free experience!

1. Be patient, it’s normal for kids to be picky. It can take multiple exposures (15-20x) to a new food before they accept it. Keep offering the food, but don’t force it. Gradually introduce new foods alongside familiar ones.

2. Get your child involved in the kitchen! Children are more likely to try foods when they help prepare them. Let them stir, wash vegetables, or pick out foods to try. This can make them feel proud and excited to eat.

3. Give them a range of choices to help expand their palate. Instead of focusing on a single vegetable, offer 2-3 options and let them pick their favorites. Variety in colors and textures will make meals fun and inviting!

4. Make mealtime enjoyable, not a battleground. Avoid pressure to finish the plate or eat certain foods. Create a relaxed atmosphere where your child feels safe to explore new foods at their own pace.

5. Children are influenced by what they see! If you enjoy eating a variety of healthy foods, your child is more likely to follow suit. Set a good example by eating a variety of healthy foods and enjoying mealtime together. Family meals are a great time to show positive eating habits.

6. Let your child listen to their body’s hunger and fullness cues. Avoid making mealtime stressful by forcing them to finish everything on their plate. Offer smaller portions, and allow them to ask for more if they’re still hungry.

7. Reinforce the idea that trying new foods is exciting! Celebrate small victories. If they try a new food, praise them for being brave. Even if they don’t like it, encourage them to keep exploring different tastes and textures!

Despite recent changes to the federal immunization schedule, we will continue to follow the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) evidence-based childhood immunization schedule.

The AAP recommendations are developed by pediatricians, scientists, and public health experts who continuously review decades of research and the latest data to protect infants and children from serious, preventable diseases.

While vaccine schedules can vary between countries due to differences in disease risk, population needs, and health systems, the AAP schedule is designed specifically for children in the U.S. and has been trusted by pediatricians and families for generations.

California is part of the West Coast Health Alliance which continues to recommend vaccination in alignment with the AAP.

If you have questions about vaccines or your child’s immunization schedule, set up an appointment with your pediatrician.

And follow us to stay up to date and informed!
