Gaffney, we are hurting with you. Last week, a young life was taken in our community in a place where children should have been thinking about getting to school — not witnessing violence.
There are students, parents, families, educators, bus drivers, first responders, and community members who may be carrying the weight of what happened for a long time after the headlines disappear.
As a counseling practice that serves the Gaffney community, we want to be very intentional about how we respond. This is not the time to capitalize on tragedy or turn grief into a marketing opportunity. This is the time to listen.
We are reaching out to community and school leaders to ask one simple question:
**What does Gaffney actually need right now?**
If that means providing professional mental-health support, we will do that. If that means helping connect families to resources, we will do that. If that means simply showing up and helping our community organize around healing, we will do that too.
If you are a parent, educator, community leader, youth worker, faith leader, or resident and you know of a need that is not being addressed, please reach out.
We don't have to have all the answers. But we can show up. And right now, Gaffney needs people willing to show up for one another. ❤️
