Dr. Kuhadiya has vast clinical experience in providing cutting edge Diabetes & Endocrine care during his tenure as Clinical Assistant Professor at University at Buffalo and as Endocrinology Program Director at Renown Health located in Reno, Nevada. The
se two experiences and many others helped shape Dr. Kuhadiya’s drive and passion in pursuing his ideas of creating and opening his own diabetes and endocrine center of excellence. Dr. Kuhadiya is a thought leader in the field of Endocrinology and lectures several times a month to providers throughout the country. He is regarded as one of the premier lectures in the field of Endocrinology. Dr. Kuhadiya has published over three dozen papers in elite and high impact factor journals, including the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism(JCEM), Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism(DOM), European Journal of Endocrinology(EJE), Diabetes Care, American Journal of Physiology-Endocrinology and Metabolism, Clinical Endocrinology, Endocrine Practice and AACE Case Reports Journal. He has also spearheaded important proof of concept studies exploring the role of GLP-1RA and SGLT-2 inhibitors in type 1 diabetes (T1D). Outside of the clinic Dr. Kuhadiya is very involved with his family with whom he just adores. Ben Prohaska is a PA and he received Board Certification in Advanced Diabetes Management in June of 2016 from The Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists (ADCES). Prohaska is active and dedicated to the diabetes community here in Northern Nevada and is a Board member of the Nevada Diabetes Association since 2017. This Association’s mission is to improve the lives of children and adults affected by diabetes through prevention, education and service. Since 2015 Ben participates and volunteers over a week of his time each summer and fall as a medical staff member at this organizations type 1 diabetes kids and teen camps held in South Lake Tahoe each year. Ben is also involved at a state and national level with his physician assistant profession. Ben is one of only 8 PAs in the State of Nevada that has been honored by the American Academy of PAs as a Distinguished Fellow (DFAAPA). Ben has also been published in several diabetes medical journals and enjoys research in the field of diabetes. Prohaska is a Clinical Assistant Professor, and community faculty member for the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine Physician Assistant Studies Program. Since the inception of this PA program, he has been involved in precepting and teaching students, interviewing perspective candidates, as well as lecturing on diabetes in the classroom to the first year PA students. Outside of the clinic Ben is dedicated to his two wonderful children and tries his best to stay active with mountain biking, road biking, running, hiking, alpine skiing, and his favorite sport of cross-country skiing.
