This Pride Month, we’re talking about something that doesn’t get enough airtime: the connection between LGBTQ+ identity and eating disorders.
Eating disorders often show up as a way to cope with the pain of feeling unsafe in your identity, or the longing to belong somewhere. And for LGBTQ+ individuals, that pain can run deep.
Acceptance isn’t passive. It’s protective. Celebrating who people are, in all their fullness, is one of the most powerful things we can do to support recovery.
