Should every female even without symptoms take HRT to protect their heart and brain? In this episode of my IG live series Longevity edit I talk to nationally renowned urogyn HRT specialist dr Christine Vaccaro about HRT and whether every female even one without symptoms in perimenopause or menopause should be on it for preventive purposes. As of now dr Vaccaro does not recommend that. HRT should be given for symptoms such as : brain fog, anxiety, sleep disturbances, bone loss, hot flashes, night sweats. Approach may change as we gather more data in the next few years.

One of the main indications of HRT in perimenopause is to reverse bone loss. Osteopenia and osteoporosis can significantly impact your future health and should be addressed earlier in life in perimenopause or early menopause. Women benefit from DEXA scans starting at age 50 to detect early significant bone loss.
