RSV season is coming! RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) is a common respiratory virus, but it can be especially serious for young infants. In fact, RSV is the most common cause of hospitalization in U.S. infants.

Who should get RSV protection?
- Infants under 8 months entering their first RSV season: Most babies whose mother did not receive the RSV vaccine during pregnancy should receive an RSV preventive antibody
- Some children 8-19 months old: Children at increased risk for severe RSV may also qualify for preventive antibodies.
- Pregnant patients: One dose of the RSV vaccine is recommended during 32–36 weeks of pregnancy, during the recommended seasonal window, to help protect baby after birth.

The goal is to help reduce the risk of severe RSV illness, including hospitalization, during those vulnerable first months of life. Questions about RSV protection? We’re here to help!
