Prescription medications can play an important role in care — but when they’re misused or no longer needed, knowing how to handle them safely matters.

We were proud to sponsor and participate in this month's Runway to a Cure event at Reston Town Center! 💗

Hosted by Reston Runway to the Cure, Inc., this annual fashion event brings our community together to raise funds for breast cancer research and local programs that provide assistance to patients.

Our Reston Hospital team enjoyed connecting with community members at our table and supporting an organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer.

When seconds count, knowing what to do can save a life. ❤️

This month, Reston Hospital Center was proud to partner with Gwyneth’s Gift Foundation to provide Hands-Only CPR training to employees at Shelter House and fund the placement of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in their office.

Through this partnership, Shelter House team members are gaining the knowledge, confidence and tools to respond when someone experiences sudden cardiac arrest.

At Reston Hospital, caring for our community extends far beyond our hospital walls. We're grateful to Gwyneth’s Gift Foundation and Shelter House for joining us in making our community a safer, healthier place for everyone.

Together, we're helping more people be prepared to save a life.

Did you know? According to SAMHSA, an estimated 7.2 million people age 12 or older misused prescription pain relievers in 2025.

That’s why Reston Hospital and Tysons Emergency are joining HCA Healthcare facilities across the country to help make safe medication disposal more accessible. In partnership with Fairfax County Police Department , we’re hosting our take back day event on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 10am to 2pm at both locations.

Safe medication disposal is one way we can help make our communities healthier. This October, Reston Hospital Center and Tysons Emergency are joining HCA Healthcare facilities across the country for the eighth annual “Crush the Crisis” national prescription drug take back day, held in alignment with the Drug Enforcement Administration - DEA 's National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

You can help us and the Fairfax County Police Department by removing medications you no longer need from your home and bringing them to our upcoming collection event.
