New on the blog: A look into my journey as a therapist. I created an interview style blog that answers many of the questions you might have for me:
- What first drew me to therapy & art as healing
- How creative expression helped me make meaning after trauma
- Why I specialize in eating disorders, trauma & perinatal mental health
- How my own recovery and motherhood shape how I show up in the room
- What kind of clients tend to feel most at home here
- The real reasons my practice is private pay
- Some encouragement for anyone considering therapy

Supporting a loved one through eating disorder recovery can feel confusing and overwhelming. I often notice that the support people in my clients’ lives are unintentionally missing a few foundational steps that can make a meaningful difference in recovery.
Swipe through for gentle, practical ways to show up with compassion, clarity, and boundaries.

1. Start With Emotional Validation
Recovery brings up big, real emotions. Simple statements like “I see how scary this feels” or “I hear how much this hurts” can help your loved one feel seen and supported.

2. Stay Calm Yourself
Co-regulation matters. When you stay grounded, you offer your loved one something steady to anchor to.
And remember: taking care of your own needs is essential if you want to remain calm and present for them.

3. Partner With Them
Eat a meal together. Try a challenge food with them. Sit beside them when they’re fighting the urge to use a behavior. Connection and companionship can be powerful in countering the disorder. Your presence truly makes a difference.

Wondering what your first therapy session will actually feel like?
It’s normal to feel a mix of relief, hope, and nerves when you reach out for therapy.
In your first session with me, we’ll slow down, breathe, and start by simply getting to know each other. There’s no pressure to “dive deep” before you’re ready. My goal is to help you feel grounded, seen, and safe.
You can read more about what to expect (and how to prepare if you’d like) in my new blog post.
