At Madison - We Do That.
STROKE REHABILITATION. Nearly all of us know someone who has had a stroke or know someone who loves someone who has had a stroke--but that doesn't take the uncertainty away from stroke recovery. Here at Therapy Services our Neuro Team includes occupational, physical, and speech therapists that assist those who have suffered from a stroke to regain function and become as independent as possible. Overall, the sooner stroke rehabilitation therapy begins, the better the chances are for a person to regain function.

At Madison - We Do That.
4-PHASE LASER THERAPY. Similar to red-light therapy, (see our post from two weeks ago) laser treatments are also a form of rehabilitation that use light waves to help patients get better faster. When used in conjunction with other therapeutic treatments, our Therapy Services 4-phase laser treatment has been shown to reduce pain and swelling, improve range of motion, and accelerate tissue, bone, and nerve repair.

Generally speaking, the difference between using laser therapy vs. red light therapy is that the laser is able to be effective much deeper in the body as well as be more accurate in treating a smaller, precise affected area such as the shoulder, the hand, or even the jaw.

Welcome to the Team, Lindsay Smith, DPT!

Madison Health Therapy Services is excited to welcome Lindsay Smith, DPT, to our physical therapy team.

Lindsay works with women recovering from childbirth, C-sections, hysterectomy, and other conditions affecting strength, mobility, and daily function.

Lindsay also works with new mothers in the Mom & Baby Unit at Madison Memorial Hospital, providing education, recovery guidance, and resources to support postpartum healing and recovery.

Physical therapy may help with:

• Recovery after C-section or hysterectomy
• Core weakness and abdominal separation (diastasis recti)
• Back, hip, or pelvic pain
• Difficulty returning to exercise or normal activities
• Postpartum recovery
• Mobility and movement concerns after surgery or childbirth
• Strength and endurance deficits affecting daily function

Many women experience these challenges and assume they are simply something they have to live with. Physical therapy can help restore strength, improve function, and support recovery.
