Today, we commemorate a significant chapter in our nation's history, which offers us a moment for both reflection and celebration. On June 19, 1865, more than 2,000 Union soldiers arrived at Galveston Bay, Texas. This day, now celebrated as “Juneteenth,” symbolizes freedom in Texas and underscores the ongoing struggle for equality and justice.
Let's unite to reflect on our history, celebrate our achievements, and recommit to creating a more inclusive and equitable future for everyone.
