We try to embody this fully at our practice. We try to meet our individuals, romantic partners, and families where they are to help them get them to where they want to be.

Intersectionality reminds us:
There is no โ€œone-size-fits-allโ€ approach to healing.

To truly support mental health, we must acknowledge lived experiences, challenge bias, and create systems that honor the full identity of every individual.

๐Ÿ–ค Black Maternal Mental Health Week (April 11โ€“17)
This week brings awareness to the unique challenges Black mothers face during pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond โ€” including higher rates of maternal mental health concerns and barriers to equitable care.
Mental health doesnโ€™t exist in isolation โ€” it impacts the entire family system, including partners and relationships.
When a mother is supported, heard, and cared for, the entire family benefits.
Letโ€™s continue to create spaces where Black mothers feel safe, valued, and supported โ€” not just this week, but always.
๐ŸคŽ If you or someone you love is navigating this season, support is available.

๐ŸŒ Today is World Health Day ๐Ÿ’š

Health is about so much more than what we can physically see.

Our physical health and mental/emotional health are deeply connected โ€” when one is struggling, the other often feels it too. Stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, and emotional overwhelm can show up in the body through fatigue, headaches, sleep disruption, tension, digestive issues, and more. And when weโ€™re physically unwell, it can impact our mood, motivation, confidence, and overall emotional well-being.

Taking care of yourself means caring for your whole self.

That includes:

โœ”๏ธ Scheduling regular medical check-ups

โœ”๏ธ Paying attention to changes in your body

โœ”๏ธ Honoring stress and emotional exhaustion

โœ”๏ธ Reaching out for support when something feels โ€œoffโ€

โœ”๏ธ Remembering that prevention and early care matter

Checking in on your health isnโ€™t selfish โ€” itโ€™s a meaningful act of care.

This World Health Day, let this be your reminder to prioritize both your mind and body. You deserve support, healing, and care in every form.

If your emotional health has been weighing on you lately, therapy can be a powerful part of your overall wellness journey. ๐Ÿค

Black mental wellness deserves visibility โ€” not just for a day, but every day.

This Black History Month, weโ€™ve recognized diverse voices and experiences while underscoring that mental health equity is essential to overall health, safety, and opportunity.

Today, on , we continue to elevate conversations about stigma, center culturally responsive care, and reaffirm the importance of community-based solutions.

Black mental wellness is shaped by strength, resilience, advocacy, and collective care. It also requires access, investment, and systems change.

As Black History Month comes to a close, our commitment continues.

Whole-heartedly agree. Mental health can feel less like a taboo or scary when there are open and honest conversations about it.
