Char and Natacha will present two gentle and effective bodywork modalities. Char will talk about a technique to get trauma responses out of the survival brain and return to a state of regulation through working with primitive reflexes. Natacha is going to talk about and demonstrate The Wallace MethodTM (see her blurb below) (and Char and some audience members may jump in here and there!)
Char Terrana, MA, RMTi Consultant, (Rhythmic Movement Training International), Wallace Method Teacher and Practitioner
Terrasoma Restorative Movement terrasomamoves.com
Char was a pre-med student in the early 80s. She had several health concerns for which allopathic medicine had no reasonable solution. So she sought out a natural practitioner and found someone who today would be called a functional medicine doctor. The fates decided she would take a different path to help others. She began her career as a deep tissue massage therapist and segued into movement education after being “saved” by her teacher, Heather Wallace, from debilitating sciatica due to a car crash as a teen. The rest is history.
A movement educator since 1996, I combine the embodying work of The Wallace Method with rhythmic developmental movements and integration of retained reflexes to reestablish balance, both physical and emotional. I have been studying trauma and how to help the nervous system complete the arc so it does not remain in the “survival brain”. Developed by a Swedish psychiatrist, this method is proving very effective. I would like to share this particular aspect of the work. After transforming some of my own traumas, it pleases me immensely to be able to help others in such a meaningful way.

BIO:
Natacha Drechsler
Over 35 years experience.
Starting with a spinal event at age 17, I suffered from regular episodes of worsening back and neck pain for 12 years of my youth, despite years of physical therapy. Then in 1989 I met Heather Wallace, one of a team of therapists in a Minneapolis chronic pain clinic.
I had signed up for an intensive 3 weeks full time without much hope but she was the one I needed.
She developed her Wallace Method and I was part of a small group of aspiring practitioners. Certified in 2007. In practice since then, personal and professional.
I truly am in awe of this work! So gentle, respectful yet so deep and effective. So different in such a good way.
