This month, we’ve talked about the tangled, hard-to-explain parts of our mental health — the stuff that feels like a knot even to us. But healing rarely happens alone. It happens when we find someone who listens without judgment, who takes the time to understand instead of just waiting for their turn to speak.
For so many in BIPOC communities, that “right person” hasn’t always been easy to find — whether because of stigma, cultural barriers, or a lack of culturally competent care. That’s exactly why this month matters.
So as July closes, the work doesn’t stop here. Keep checking in on each other. Keep making space to really listen. And if you’re the one holding the tangled thread, know that finding someone who gets it can make all the difference. A therapist who understands is available- reach out today.
Here’s to being heard — and to becoming that person for someone else. 🧶
