Residents in our Seasons Memory Care get to participate in daily activities that are specially designed for residents with memory impairment. These activities provide for spiritual, social, emotional, and physical and intellectual needs of each resident. A typical day consists of 2-4 planned activities which are balanced with intermittent rest periods and meals in between.

Programs are structured to accommodate the attention span, need for physical movement, cognitive abilities, nutrition and hydration needs of residents with dementia. These include:

➡️ We provide opportunities for residents to engage in simple and familiar activities of everyday life such as cooking projects, watering plants, dressing, and personal hygiene/grooming
➡️ Gross motor activities such as exercising and dancing
➡️ Reality orientation- A daily activity to look at the calendar, date, weather, holidays, newspaper, current events, etc.
➡️ We incorporate appropriate music, selected television programming and videos, games and other forms of sensory and social stimulation

June is National Migraine and Headache Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about conditions that affect millions of Americans. While migraines are often associated with younger adults, headaches remain an important health concern for older adults as well.

For seniors, headaches can sometimes be caused by simple issues such as dehydration, stress, or medication side effects. In other cases, however, headaches may signal underlying health problems that deserve prompt medical attention. Understanding the causes, symptoms, and treatment options can help older adults maintain comfort and protect their overall health.

National Cancer Survivors Day celebrates those who have faced cancer and continue to live each day with determination and hope. It is also a time to recognize the families, friends, and caregivers who provide support, encouragement, and love along the way.

Many of our residents, team members, and families have been touched by cancer in some way. Today, we celebrate every survivor and the remarkable stories of perseverance they represent.

Your journey is a testament to the power of hope, faith, and the human spirit.

Today, we pause to remember the courage and sacrifice of those who took part in D-Day on June 6, 1944.

On the shores of Normandy, thousands of Allied troops risked everything to defend freedom and help bring an end to World War II. Their bravery changed the course of history and secured liberties that continue to shape our lives today.

Many of our residents either lived through this pivotal moment in history or had family who did, and some may have personal memories of the war years and the resilience they required when it was over.

We honor the heroes who served, those who supported the war effort at home, and all who made sacrifices for future generations.

Their legacy of courage, service, and determination will never be forgotten.

June is Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month — a meaningful time to slow down and think about the difference between everyday forgetfulness and something more serious. If you've ever caught yourself worrying after a parent misplaced their keys for the third time this week, you are far from alone.

According to the Alzheimer's Association's 2024 Alzheimer's Disease Facts and Figures report, an estimated 6.9 million Americans age 65 and older are living with Alzheimer's. In Georgia, more than 188,000 residents have been diagnosed. Knowing what to watch for — and what is simply part of growing older — can make a real difference in getting timely support.

💅 Happy National Nail Polish Day! 💅

Sometimes it’s the little things that bring the biggest smiles.

A fresh coat of nail polish is more than just color on your nails—it’s a chance to feel pampered, express your personality, and enjoy a bit of self-care. Whether it’s a classic pink, a bold red, or a favorite sparkle, getting your nails done is a simple pleasure that can brighten the whole day.

We love seeing residents enjoy time getting their nails done. These special moments offer not only beautiful nails, but also conversation, relaxation, and a boost in confidence. Because no matter your age, it always feels good to look your best and add a little color to life. 💖

Even though we are at the end of the month, May is Anxiety Awareness Month. It’s an important reminder that emotional health matters at every age.

Many seniors experience anxiety due to life changes such as health concerns, loss of loved ones, or adjusting to new routines. Staying socially connected, active, and supported can make a meaningful difference in overall well-being.

We believe healthy aging includes caring for both the body and the mind. 💚

Taking a moment to check in with the seniors in your life can go a long way in supporting their emotional wellness.
