You know those days when normal sounds suddenly feel like too much?

The volume hasn’t necessarily changed, but your ability to handle all of that input can.

Your brain and nervous system are constantly sorting through what you see, hear, feel, and experience. When you’re already under a lot of stress, that filtering can feel harder and everyday environments can become more overwhelming.

And this is where our work gets interesting.

The upper cervical region sits right where the brain and body are constantly exchanging information, which is one reason we care so much about supporting healthy nervous system function there.

Chiropractic isn’t going to make your kids quieter or your house less chaotic.

But supporting a nervous system that’s better able to regulate and adapt?

That’s part of the bigger picture.

We had a reel get quite a bit of attention and we’ve gotten a LOT of comments telling us that our adjustments aren’t enough force, don’t actually change anything, that our results are placebo, etc.

Fair enough but rather than argue in the comments, we thought we’d show you some results instead of just an adjustment.

These are CBCT images from a patient before and after completing their recommended care plan.

No surgery. No injections. Just chiropractic care.

You can see a clear difference in the relationship and positioning of the upper cervical structures between these two scans.

Does one before-and-after image prove everything we claim? Of course not. That’s not how science works.

But it does make it difficult to say that “nothing happened.”

We know not everyone will agree with what we do. We know not everyone will choose chiropractic care, especially the way we choose to practice it. But we also don’t think it’s fair to tell patients that the changes they’re experiencing are placebo or that we’re accomplishing nothing.

So here’s the before and after. You tell us what you see.

Why do we adjust the very top of the neck?

Because it’s about more than the neck.

The upper cervical area is where the head meets the spine, and it’s an important part of the pathway between the brain and the rest of the body.

Your brain is constantly receiving information from your body and sending information back out. That communication helps your body coordinate movement, balance, stress responses, and so much more.

That’s why we care so much about what happens at the top of the neck.

An upper cervical adjustment isn’t about forcing the neck into a position or simply making it “crack.”

It’s about giving the body a specific input and allowing the nervous system to respond.

That’s why we focus on precision over force.

Small area.
Big responsibility.

It’s Dr. Alexis’ birthday!

Which means today we’re celebrating the woman behind the vision, the energy, and so much of what makes this place feel like home.

From building Unbridled Spirit with Blaise to caring for the families who walk through these doors, she pours a whole lot of herself into this place and this community.

Today, she gets to be celebrated.

Happy birthday, Dr. Alexis!

Help us fill the comments with some birthday love for her!

As parents, we spend a lot of time getting ready for a new school year.

We shop for supplies, label water bottles, organize backpacks, and try to settle into a new routine before the first day arrives.

But one thing that’s easy to overlook is the child carrying that backpack.

A new school year asks a lot of growing kids. New routines, long days in the classroom, sports practices, learning, friendships, and all the excitement and emotions that come with a fresh start.

At Unbridled Spirit, our goal isn’t simply to care for children when something feels wrong. We believe in supporting healthy nervous system function so their bodies can adapt to everything a new season brings.

As you’re checking off your back-to-school list, consider making your child’s health part of the plan, too.

We’d love to help your family start the school year strong. Contact us to schedule.

It usually happens gradually.

One day you realize you’re turning your whole body to back out of the driveway, looking over one shoulder feels easier than the other, checking your blind spot isn’t as effortless as it used to be.

Little changes like these are easy to brush off because they happen slowly.

But they can be clues that your body has been adapting for longer than you realize.

Sometimes it’s worth paying attention before it becomes something bigger.

The adjustment isn’t the goal.
Healthy function is.

The upper cervical spine is a small area with a big responsibility. It sits where the brain and body communicate every second of every day.

That’s why we don’t believe bigger or more forceful adjustments are better, we believe more precise adjustments are.

Every recommendation we make starts with the same question:

“What does this person’s body need today?”

Sometimes that’s an adjustment. Sometimes it isn’t.

Because our goal has never been to adjust more, it’s to help your nervous system function the way it was designed to.

Precision isn’t just part of what we do. It’s the foundation of how we care.

Send this to someone who thinks every chiropractic adjustment is the same.

We all have habits.

The side we always carry our child.
The shoulder we always throw a bag over.
The way we cross our legs.
The position we fall asleep in.

None of those habits are a problem on their own, but over time, the little things add up.

When one side of the body is asked to do a little more, day after day, year after year, it’s not uncommon to notice tight shoulders, a stiff neck, headaches that keep coming back, or a body that just doesn’t feel as comfortable as it used to.

Those are often the moments that make people stop and ask,

“Why do I always hurt in the same places?”

That’s why we look beyond the symptom itself.

We want to understand the patterns your body has developed over time and how they’re affecting the way you move and function.

Because sometimes the answer isn’t one big injury.
It’s years of little things adding up.

Send this to someone who’s always rubbing the same shoulder, stretching the same side of their neck, or wondering why the same aches keep coming back.

We hear these words more often than you might think.
"I've just learned to live with it."
"I figured it was normal."
"I've been dealing with it for years."
When something develops gradually, it's easy to assume it's simply part of life.
Sometimes it is.
Sometimes it's worth taking a closer look.
That's why our first conversation isn't just about symptoms.
It's about understanding your story, your health, and how your body has been functioning over time.
The goal isn't to convince you something is wrong.
It's to help you understand your body a little better.

Bedtime can be one of the hardest parts of the day.
If you've tried adjusting the routine, changing naps, reading one more book, or adding another nightlight... you know it's rarely as simple as "just put them to bed."

Healthy sleep is built on a lot of different pieces.
Consistent routines.
Good sleep habits.
A calm environment.
And a nervous system that knows how to shift from activity into rest.

At Unbridled Spirit, we don't believe chiropractic replaces the basics.
We believe it can be part of the bigger picture, supporting a nervous system that helps children rest, recover, and grow.
Because every child deserves the opportunity for healthy sleep.
