Meet Erica Howard, SCBHS Operations Manager 🌟

Since July 2021, Erica has kept the wheels turning behind the scenes at Southern Change Behavioral Health Services with 16 years of experience in the human services field. Erica handles billing, maintains employee files, and preps payroll. Her role is the essential detail driven work that keeps SCBHS running smoothly so the team can focus on client care.

What drew her to behavioral health?
πŸ’¬ "I want to help those in need."

And what keeps her going is knowing the impact is real:
πŸ’¬ "Knowing that the services we provide makes a difference in the lives of the community."

On the work culture at SCBHS, πŸ’¬ "We operate like family. Thick skinned."
Her colleagues know her as upbeat and always willing to step in where needed.

Erica is honest about the emotional demands of the field too:
πŸ’¬ "The day to day encounters can be taxing on your mental, so be sure to find an outlet."

Her own outlet? A well earned massage with jazz playing in the background, plenty of time in the garden, and trips to the Caribbean islands whenever she can get there.

In her opinion SCBHS provides a safe and stable environment for clients.
πŸ’¬ "Provides a safe and stable place to open up without judgment."

Her advice for anyone considering this career?
πŸ’¬ "Don't come just looking for a job. You have to have a heart and a willingness to help."

Erica, Thank you for your contributions to the team and helping to move SCBHS forward.
