Hey cowgirl, do me a favor. Right now. I'm serious.
Tell yourself that you're a beautiful and kind woman. Tell yourself that you're strong. That it doesn't matter how bitter and cruel the world can be - you are a light. Don't let their bitterness and negativity dim what God placed inside of you.
You deserve happiness, cowgirl. You deserve love.
You don't have to earn your worth by working yourself to exhaustion, proving yourself to people who refuse to see your value, or shrinking yourself to make others comfortable. Your worth was never determined by how many buckles you win, how many miles you drive, how much money you make, or whether everyone likes you.
The world will give you plenty of reasons to doubt yourself. It'll tell you you're behind, not good enough, too much, or not enough. Don't listen.
Instead, remember the woman you've fought to become. Remember every hardship you've survived, every tear you've cried, every setback you've overcome. Remember the strength it took to keep showing up when nobody saw the battles you were fighting.
Be gentle with yourself.
The same kindness you give your horse, your family, your friends, and complete strangers: you deserve that kindness too.
So hold your head a little higher, cowgirl. Speak to yourself the way you'd speak to someone you love.
Because you are worthy of love.
You are worthy of rest.
You are worthy of joy.
And no amount of negativity from this world can change that.
