✌️🌼 Richmond went all the way back to the ’70s! 💙

Our Blast Through the Decades celebration had our residents and staff pulling out their best hippie looks and getting creative with tie-dye! 👕🎨 From the outfits to the colorful shirts, everyone had plenty of fun getting into the spirit of the decade.

We even took a little inspiration from the ’70s for lunch, with beef stroganoff, green bean casserole and ambrosia salad on the menu. 🍽️😋

There’s something fun about picking a decade and letting everyone get into it in their own way. Our residents have been having a great time seeing what each day brings, and we’re already curious about which decade is coming next! 😉

🩺 Good care starts with strong nursing leadership.

This week, our Directors of Nursing came together in Ooltewah, Tennessee, for Morning Pointe Senior Living’s annual Director of Nursing Conference, taking time away from their communities to learn from one another and strengthen the work they lead every day.

Sessions focused on the responsibilities our nursing leaders navigate, including leadership foundations, effective scheduling, partnerships with fellow directors, care plan meetings, and dementia observation, with an emphasis on helping care staff better understand and respond to behaviors.

We’re grateful for the nursing leaders who continue to grow in their roles and take what they learn back to their teams and, most importantly, to the residents they serve. 🤍

🎶🍔❤️ Richmond took a trip back to the ’50s, and we went all in!

The community was transformed with records, poodle skirts and classic diner décor, setting the stage for a day full of ’50s fun. At lunchtime, our residents enjoyed hamburgers, french fries and vanilla milkshakes while the staff put on quite a show of their own! 😂🎤

The dining room became a dance floor as our team lip-synced to oldies and danced their way around the room. Our residents were more than happy to sit back and enjoy the performance, and judging by the smiles, they may have been wondering what the staff would come up with next! 🕺💃

Then, we kept the ’50s theme going into the evening with a drive-in movie right in our dining room. With the screen and projector set up, everyone settled in to watch “Singin’ in the Rain.” 🎬☔

What a way to kick off our Blast Through the Decades week! If the ’50s were this much fun, we can’t wait to see what decade Richmond visits next. ❤️

😂💙 Gilbert may not have taken home a prize from Morning Pointe Seniors Got Talent, but he definitely won us over!

We’re still incredibly proud of our very own Gilbert for stepping onto the stage at Seniors Got Talent Lexington and sharing his comedy with the crowd. Making it that far was an accomplishment worth celebrating, and we wanted to make sure Gil knew just how proud we are of him. ❤️

So, we put together a few gifts we knew would make him laugh. He received a T-shirt with the definition of a comedian, a “Best Comedian Ever” plaque for his nightstand and, because we know Gil appreciates a good gag gift, a tin of “memory mints for senior moments.” 😂🍬

The plaque may say “Best Comedian Ever,” but around here, Gil has already earned the title. We’re proud of you, Gilbert, and we’re so glad you gave us the chance to cheer you on! 🎤👏💙

🌟 We’re shining on through National Assisted Living Week!

We’re halfway through the week, and our communities have been having a lot of fun with this year’s theme, “Shining Through the Years.”

So far, we’ve seen Grandparents Day celebrations, ’50s throwbacks, sweet treats, games and Words of Wisdom from residents, with each community putting its own personality into the week.

And we’re not finished yet! There’s still more to come as we keep celebrating the people who make Morning Pointe such a special place to call home. 🧡
