💙 June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month 💙
This month, I’m sharing simple reminders, conversation starters, and practical tips to support the mental wellness of the men in our lives—and to remind men that they deserve support too. Because strength and struggle can exist at the same time. Follow along this month, share these posts, and check on someone you care about.
Today's message:
Instead of asking, “How are you?” try asking:
“What has been stressing you lately?”
“How have you REALLY been doing?”
“What’s been on your mind lately?”
"How can I support/be here for you?"
And remember, listen to what is not being said.

You all know that I do not share too much about my personal life except when it can help someone. In April 2026, someone very close to me was diagnosed with a hemorrhagic stroke (brain bleed). Although they are doing well, it could have been a very different story. There was no facial drooping, no slurred speech but there were constant, several headaches (which are not normal for them) and decided to seek attention. Sharing this information may be helpful to someone and what better time than in May which is Stroke Awareness Month.
“Your body hears everything your mind carries.” 💜
During Stroke Awareness Month, let us remember that caring for our health is not selfish—it is stewardship.
Know the signs of stroke. Prioritize rest. Manage stress. Move your body. Seek support when needed. Pray, but also make the appointment. 🙏🏾
Remember BE FAST:
🅱️ Balance problems
👀 Eyes/vision changes
🙂 Face drooping
💪 Arm weakness
🗣️ Speech difficulty
⏰ Time to call 911

Earlier today, I read a post in which someone was complaining about service they had received and how that one experience had ruined their whole day. Someone commented " Do not let 400 seconds ruin your entire 86, 400 seconds.". Man.... I FELT THAT!!!! There are 86,400 seconds in a full day, so why let a 6-minute comment/action ruin your entire day? So, as we prepare for a new week, which will you choose- focus on the tiny blip or the endless possibilities of the day???
