Regular physical activity can play an important role in maintaining spinal health. Low-impact exercises may help improve core stability, support flexibility, and reduce stiffness, all of which can be beneficial for patients with back pain or a history of spine issues.

Activities such as swimming, cycling, and yoga are often well tolerated because they place less stress on the spine while still promoting mobility and overall conditioning. The most appropriate activity depends on the individual’s symptoms, physical condition, and any underlying spine diagnosis.

For patients with persistent pain, exercise recommendations should be tailored to avoid aggravating symptoms while still encouraging safe movement.

Acupuncture may be considered as part of a treatment plan for patients experiencing pain, stress-related symptoms, or headaches. In some patients, acupuncture can help support relaxation and may be used as an adjunctive therapy for conditions such as low back pain, tension, and migraine symptoms.

Response to treatment can vary, and acupuncture is not a substitute for medical evaluation when symptoms are persistent, severe, or worsening. A comprehensive assessment can help determine the most appropriate care approach for each patient.

Kyphoplasty is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat painful compression fractures in the spine, often related to osteoporosis. During the procedure, a small balloon is gently placed into the fractured bone to help restore height, and the space is then stabilized with bone cement.

For many patients, this can help reduce pain, improve mobility, and support a faster recovery. If you have been diagnosed with an osteoporotic fracture, it may be worth discussing whether kyphoplasty is an appropriate option for you. Call today and schedule your appointment.

Did you know? The spine is a highly complex structure supported by more than 120 muscles, 220 ligaments, and 100 joints. This intricate system allows the spine to provide stability, flexibility, and movement while also protecting the spinal cord and supporting the body’s weight.

Because so many structures work together, spine pain does not always come from one single source. An accurate evaluation is important to determine whether symptoms are related to the muscles, ligaments, joints, discs, or nerves.
