Postpartum Nutrition Tips:

Your body needs nourishment, healing, and restoration after birth. Prioritizing protein and omega 3 rich foods can support recovery, energy, hormone balance, brain health, and milk production.

Simple ways to increase protein and omega 3s in your diet:

• Add eggs to breakfast or snacks
• Eat salmon, sardines, tuna, or mackerel weekly
• Include Greek yogurt or cottage cheese for extra protein
• Add chia seeds or flaxseeds to smoothies and oatmeal
• Snack on nuts like walnuts and almonds
• Choose beans, lentils, and lean meats for balanced meals

Small daily changes can make a big impact on postpartum healing and overall wellness. ❤️

💜August is National Breastfeeding Month!💜

Healthy Hearts Plus 2 is proud to recognize National Breastfeeding Month, a time to celebrate breastfeeding families, raise awareness, and encourage mothers throughout their breastfeeding journeys.

Breastfeeding Tip: Nurse often and on demand. Frequent breastfeeding helps your body respond to your baby’s needs and supports a healthy milk supply.

Watch for early hunger cues, such as bringing hands to the mouth, turning toward the breast, or becoming more alert. You do not have to wait until your baby cries to offer a feeding.

Every breastfeeding journey is unique. Whether you are just getting started or continuing your journey, give yourself grace and reach out for support when you need it.

This August, we celebrate the mothers, babies, families, lactation professionals, doulas, and community partners who help make breastfeeding support possible.

Healthy moms. Healthy babies. Healthy families.

Reading with your baby is one of the greatest gifts you can give. Hold your little one close, let them touch the pages, point to the pictures, and follow the words together. Even before babies can speak, they are learning that books are fun, words have meaning, and reading is a special time shared with someone they love.

These simple moments help build early language skills, literacy awareness, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning, one page at a time.

Lap Baby Education is part of the Sister Circle Program at Healthy Hearts Plus II, giving families the tools and encouragement to nurture strong readers from the very beginning.
