At the start of July we celebrated our third program anniversary with Palm Tran and fifth with Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority!

Palm Tran and Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority both leverage UZURV – The Adaptive TNC as a supplemental service provider for their ADA paratransit programs. The agencies take advantage of an FTA-compliant network of drivers, onboarded to provide the high level of service the agencies expect of their ADA paratransit drivers.

PSTA and Palm Tran have provided more than half-a-million rides to their communities through UZURV, with on-time performance rates of 97% or more, within 15 minutes of the scheduled pick-up time.

UZURV is thrilled to present the Community Mobility Champion Award to VisionCorps for demonstrating their commitment to advocacy and partnership resulting in increased community mobility for blind and low-vision individuals. Congratulations!

Thrilled to congratulate Vision Corps for receiving the Community Mobility Champion Award. This first-time award, presented by UZURV, recognizes an individual or organization that has demonstrated a commitment to advocacy and partnership resulting in increased community mobility for those living with blindness and low vision.

VisionCorps has pursued innovative strategies to advocate for greater mobility options. In addition to travel training and orientation programs, the organization implements collaborative initiatives to expand transportation options for the people it serves living with blindness and low vision. For example, it is currently developing a partnership called LionsLift, which would organize Lions Club members as volunteer drivers to provide transportation to the blind and low-vision community. This week we celebrate the 4th anniversary of City of Alexandria, Virginia partnership with UZURV. Alexandria DOT, which stands for Dignified Options in Transportation, is a specialized transportation program for citizens unable to use the fixed route systems in the city. Alexandria DOT is free for riders within the city limits, and affordable rides that extend throughout Washington, D.C. and the surrounding Northern Virginia region.

Cities and counties with specialized community transportation, like the City of Alexandria, leverage UZURV to provide a higher level of transportation and freedom for their citizens. We are proud to be a long-time provider for this innovative program.

American Public Transportation Association Mobility Conference kicks off this weekend, May 16th!

The UZURV team is looking forward to exploring the full program and learning from innovative transit professionals from across the country and we are excited to sponsor the following sessions:

Participants will explore how agencies can create organizational systems that include riders with disabilities to ensure accessibility is considered at every stage—policy, planning, design, construction, operations, and maintenance. APTA pulled together a great panel of industry leaders, including Eileen Collins Turvey, MPA our inspiring partner at TriMet.

Designing Usability and Accessibility into Mobility Technologies

When both are designed into an agency’s website, mobile apps, automated systems, and other tools and technologies, riders have an easier time utilizing all transit services with ease and confidence.

Happy dual 4-year program anniversary to Valley Metro and Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada.

Valley Metro leverages UZURV for its same-day service, RideChoice. This program unlocks spontaneous and flexible trips for Phoenix area paratransit riders, allowing community members to book direct transportation door-to-door.

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada utilizes UZURV’s Adaptive Transportation Network as a supplemental service provider for its ADA paratransit program. Riders can opt in allowing RTC to assign trips to UZURV. This helps to alleviate pressure on RTC’s dedicated fleets, for difficult to schedule rides, and for times of peak demand.
