Last weekend, Mississippi Physical Therapy enjoyed connecting with healthcare professionals and leaders at the Mississippi State Medical Association conference.

We were especially proud to have Brooks speak on redefining chronic pain through movement-based care and the impact physical therapy can have on long-term patient outcomes.

We’re grateful for opportunities like these to collaborate, educate, and continue advocating for better care across Mississippi🩵

When Mr. Ronald came to see Anna Belle, he was dealing with significant hip pain after pulling a muscle while playing golf.🏌️ What started as pain in his right hip quickly began radiating down his right leg, becoming severe enough to keep him awake at night. The sudden onset of symptoms made everyday movement uncomfortable and frustrating.

During treatment, dry needling was incorporated into his care plan, along with targeted therapeutic exercises. Mr. Ronald shared that the dry needling helped loosen things up and provided noticeable relief, while the exercises made a major difference in improving his mobility and reducing discomfort.

Reflecting on his care, Mr. Ronald described his experience as “excellent” and said there was nothing he would change about his treatment. Thanks to a personalized approach and consistent therapy, he was able to find relief and get back on the road to recovery.

“Why we do what we do” ❤️

While doing my internship at State my senior year, I met a man who had many of the same health conditions my dad had. I became close with him and would ask questions about his diagnoses and what life looked like for him day to day. One thing he told me that has always stuck with me was:

“I wouldn’t be here today without physical therapy.”

That moment changed everything for me. It reminded me that physical therapy is about so much more than returning from injuries or getting athletes back to their sport. It’s also about helping people regain independence, confidence, and the ability to do everyday activities that so many take for granted.

That’s why I chose this profession — to help people keep living their lives fully, no matter what challenges they face. – Will
