Today, we celebrate an incredible leader, caregiver, mentor, and friend — Jennifer Wair!
Jennifer has dedicated over 16 years to providing compassionate, resident-centered care and currently serves as our Memory Care Director here at Ridgeland Place. Her journey in healthcare began as a Personal Assistance Worker and, through hard work, determination, and a genuine passion for serving others, she advanced into leadership roles including Activity Director, Community Resident Care Lead, Walk With Me Coordinator, and ultimately Memory Care Director.
Jennifer is known for her hands-on leadership style, unwavering commitment to excellence, and the genuine love she shows to our residents, families, and team members each day. She works tirelessly to ensure every resident is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion while creating a safe, engaging, and meaningful environment for those living with memory-related conditions.
Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys traveling, fishing, and training her daughters in basketball. She and her husband, Michael, whom she married in 2018, are proud parents of four children—two girls and two boys.
Jennifer's favorite reminder to her team is, "If you didn't document it, it didn't happen," emphasizing the importance of accountability and quality care.

This morning, we discussed birds and how they are a reminder of God's care for all living things. Our devotion hymn was His Eye Is on the Sparrow, which encouraged conversation about faith, trust, and God's watchful presence.
Residents participated in a feather activity using feathers of different colors. We discussed what each color represents and shared our favorite birds, creating meaningful conversation and engagement among the group.
Following the discussion, residents enjoyed spending time outdoors placing bird feed in the bird feeders. Everyone had the opportunity to observe nature, enjoy the fresh air, and help care for the birds that visit our community.
The activity promoted social interaction, reminiscence, spiritual enrichment, and connection with nature. Residents were engaged and appeared to enjoy the experience.

Our ladies and gentlemen were very surprised today when Light of Entertainment gave them a wonderful concert featuring music from the 60s and 70s. Everyone loved the door prizes, dancing, and singing along to the classic songs. It was such a joyful day filled with laughter, smiles, and great memories. We were also so happy to continue celebrating our beautiful ladies for Mother’s Day. Thank you, Light of Entertainment, for making this day so special for our residents!

We had a sweet friend come visit us yesterday from Watkins Pet Therapy! Willow was a big hit with all of our residents in Connections and Assisted Living. She shared lots of puppy kisses, brought many smiles, and helped create precious memories with our sweet residents. Thank you, Willow, for bringing so much joy and love to everyone’s day! 🐾💕

Today we were truly blessed to fellowship with some precious people who are going through trials, storms, and tribulations in their lives. Mr. Wayne Borganelli gave us a tour of the Hope Lodge in Jackson, Mississippi — a special place where people can stay while receiving cancer treatments.

We had the privilege of meeting some of these sweet residents today and serving them lunch. Our Chef Tony prepared delicious chicken salad sandwiches with chips, cookies, and sweet tea. The residents were so grateful for the fellowship, and our hearts were touched by each and every one of them.

A special shoutout to Wayne Borganelli and the wonderful staff at Hope Lodge for welcoming us and allowing us to spend time with the sweet residents there today. It was truly a blessing to share smiles, conversations, and encouragement together. ❤️

Paws, Pearls, and Petit Fours was a big hit during our Mother’s Day Week celebration! 🐾💖 The dogs brought so much joy and laughter as they modeled off their beautiful pearls. Our ladies also wore their pearls and enjoyed delicious petit fours that Miss Barbara so thoughtfully brought for everyone.

Many wonderful memories were made on this very special day filled with smiles, laughter, and sweet moments. We want to give a special thank you to Barbara and Kathy for bringing our precious paw friends to share in this event with our residents. What a beautiful celebration for our mothers! 💕

Happy Mother’s Day to all our beautiful mothers! Today was a very special day at Ridgeland Place as we celebrated the amazing women who have blessed our lives with love, wisdom, and kindness.

We want to thank all of our staff who helped make this day so memorable for our mothers. A special thank you to our Executive Director Ralph, our Maintenance Director Robbie for preparing the fancy brunch, our Chef Tony, and all of our wonderful kitchen staff for their hard work and dedication.

Thank you to Pax Hospice for the thoughtful gifts and to Kroger for the beautiful roses that decorated our tables so beautifully.

We hope all family members enjoyed spending precious time with their mothers today and making memories together. We are truly blessed to serve these wonderful mothers and create beautiful moments with them each day.

Our first day of Mother’s Day celebration was filled with creativity and fun as the ladies enjoyed making jewelry together. Each resident used her own creative ideas to design beautiful pairs of earrings. Miss Tonza, our Activity Coordinator, assisted the ladies with ideas and encouragement throughout the activity. It was a wonderful time of socializing, laughter, and enjoying a special day together creating memories and beautiful handmade jewelry.
