I’m always amused by mental health professionals who hate clients learning things on social media. Yes, there’s lot of misinformation out there but crowdsourcing things like this means we get real life tips from people they’re working for. This is genius and I will be telling clients about it! I’m going to call my inner critic Dan. So when I’m feeling imposter syndrome I’ll just say “shut the f**k up, Dan!” It feels good.

I love taking a training that’s about tarot as it applies to clinical work! We will eventually have a tarot episode on The Witchy Therapist Podcast, sometimes it’s hard to coordinate everyone’s schedules. Yesterday I did a training hosted by Rtext about the Major Arcana & Jung that included collating with a pack of ephemera sent to me! I’ve never taken a training where I was mailed magazine pages, stickers, and a paint pen before but I think more should include it. If you follow Stacey you know I’m working on collating the Minor Arcana as a vehicle to learn the cards. My brain needs hands on learning. Even though I have a lot of cool books for that, I challenged myself to use ONLY the materials that were sent to me. Aside from the white paint pen and the stencils, eveything in the collages is from the ephemera pack. I did a better job of including all the imagery in The Empress than I did in Death, although I was excited include his horse in an out of the box way (or a Dadaism way as I learned in the training.) This is just a reminder that getting continuing education doesn’t have to be mind-numbingly boring!

Part 2 of our The Witchy Therapist Podcast interview with Fenn the Trauma Witch is live on all the podcast apps and YouTube! I really loved this conversation and without exaggeration, talking with Fenn was life changing for me. I do hope that anyone who has ADHD, C-PTSD, or is autistic especially will check out this series. There is a lot that is of interest to people who aren't mental health professionals or healers!

Our conversation with Fenn, the Trauma Witch, was so impactful that...

POV: your best friend has ADHD. This was my favorite song when I was 5, so it’s a little dated but seriously I have some questions for Grace Slick 🤔 I’m very thankful to have friends and family who I can be totally unmasked with, who don’t find my tangents and flights of fancy annoying (mostly!)

If you haven't been listening to my podcast, The Witchy Therapist Podcast our episode with Fenn Priest, The Trauma Witch, is the perfect episode to start with. We are on all the podcast apps and you can watch on YouTube. The bonus for watching this episode (vs listening) is that you get to meet Juniper, Fenn's cat! In this episode, we talk about how neurodivergent professionals can maintain integrity during burnout and how to begin to unmask. Fenn shares her experience of being diagnosed Autistic later in life and how burnout has impacted her personally. Even if you are not a clinician or healer, if you have any mental health condition that you mask or that causes burnout (not just ADHD, autism, or C-PTSD) I think that this episode will resonate with you!

How do we maintain our integrity when we are in burnout? For neurod...

I don't have much time to blog between seeing clients and the podcast, but I have been working on this post a little at a time when I have ten minutes free here and there. It's finally done! This is inspired by the work we are doing on The Witchy Therapist Podcast and my own desire to integrate Reiki and other unconventional practices into my work with therapy clients.

The sentiment that it's unethical to use tarot or astrology in therapy is not uncommon to see within professional circles online. Leading expert on the clinical use of tarot, Dreya Blume, LCSW, writes "...I invariably received disparaging comments from other therapists insisting that what I was doin...

It’s really easy to forget the importance of community. Life is busy; reality is exhausting & often scary; many of us work multiple jobs; and if you’re an ADHD-er like me you ALWAYS have chores you haven’t done. However, being creative in a room with people who are also there being vulnerable can recharge us in ways that are more important than folding laundry. Prior to last night, I didn’t know anyone at the event besides Jina the organizer. I’m definitely not someone that goes places alone when I don’t know I’ll know someone there! But I knew Jax-Zen is a space that is always welcoming, calming, and supportive to my nervous system. Ive always been glad to meet anyone I encounter there. Do yourself a favor and make some time for community this week! It’s a full moon and starting today Mercury is in retrograde in Cancer which rules relationships, family, and emotional security so make sure when you make plans that you triple check them. How are you making room in your life for community?

Blog post for anyone who feels like they may need it!

What to do if you feel like giving up on life after the election. There are a lot of things that are unknown. Many people are afraid, and for good reason.

If you are struggling today, please don’t give up. The world needs you.

I know that we like alliteration, and it's much more concise, but "people pleaser" is such a weird way to say: "traumatized into fearing non-compliance."
