🥣 School Breakfast at Rio Grande City Grulla ISD Child Nutrition Program☀️

👀Did you know the cereal served in our school breakfast program is made specifically for K12⁉️😱

The cereals we serve are designed to meet Texas Department of Agriculture Nutrition standards 💯 including limits on added sugar✅ 👉🏻👉🏻That means our school cereal is lower in sugar than any cereals found on grocery store shelves 🛒 👈🏻👈🏻while still giving students a breakfast they enjoy👏

And cereal isn’t our only choice‼️We always offer a second breakfast entrée option to satisfy every student palate😋And Fridays are extra special 🫔whole-grain pork tamales! 🌽

Why does this matter⁉️

🌾 Whole grains provide fiber, vitamins, minerals, and lasting energy to help kids stay fueled throughout the morning✅

🥩 Pork provides high-quality protein along with important nutrients like iron, zinc, and B vitamins that support growing bodies✅

🥛 Milk provides protein and calcium, plus other nutrients that help support strong bones and healthy growth✅

🍊 100% juice provides important vitamins and nutrients without added sugar. When served in the right portion, it can be part of a balanced school breakfast✅
