This week is AYA (Adolescent & Young Adult) Cancer Awareness Week, which is something very close to my heart.
Young adults facing cancer are often balancing treatment with school, work, relationships, and figuring out who they are… all at the same time. It can feel incredibly isolating, especially when life doesn’t “pause” in the ways people might expect.
As a survivor turned yoga instructor, I’ve experienced how important it is to have support, understanding, and spaces that allow the nervous system to slow down and feel safe.
Wellness isn’t just about taking care of ourselves - it’s also about being aware of what others around us may be carrying, even when we can’t see it.
If you know a young adult impacted by cancer, small things matter like listening, offering flexibility, sharing resources, or simply reminding them they are not alone.
Awareness creates compassion, and compassion creates support 🤍
