💪 Creatine Isn’t Just for Bodybuilders

When most people hear the word creatine, they picture bodybuilders and heavy weightlifting. But the science tells a much bigger story.

Creatine is one of the most extensively researched supplements available. In addition to supporting muscle strength and exercise performance, emerging research suggests it may help support brain health, recovery, healthy aging, and preserving lean muscle mass—especially for women and older adults.

That doesn’t mean everyone should take creatine. The right choice depends on your medical history, medications, kidney health, diet, activity level, and personal goals. That’s why individualized nutrition guidance matters.

As a Registered Dietitian, my goal is to help you separate evidence from social media myths so you can make informed decisions about your health.

👉 Have you ever taken creatine, or do you have questions about whether it’s right for you? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Collagen is one of the most talked-about supplements, but does it actually work?

The truth is, collagen isn’t a miracle cure, but it isn’t just hype either.

Research suggests that collagen peptides may help support skin hydration, elasticity, and joint health for some people. However, supplements work best when they’re paired with a balanced diet rich in protein, vitamin C, zinc, and copper, the nutrients your body needs to naturally produce collagen.

The biggest takeaway? Focus on building healthy habits first, and view supplements as an addition, not a replacement, for good nutrition.

Watch this week’s video as Muznah Mirza, MS, RD, breaks down what the science really says about collagen and whether it’s worth adding to your routine.

💬 Have you tried collagen supplements? We’d love to hear about your experience in the comments!

Do you find yourself chasing people when they pull away?

The way we respond in relationships often has deeper roots than we realize. Attachment theory helps explain why some people seek constant reassurance, while others withdraw when relationships become emotionally close.

Understanding your attachment style isn’t about labeling yourself—it’s about gaining insight into your patterns so you can build healthier, more secure relationships with your partner, family, friends, and even yourself.

In this short video, I break down attachment styles in a simple and practical way to help you better understand:
• Why you react the way you do in relationships
• How attachment patterns develop
• What you can do to move toward more secure, fulfilling connections

Healing begins with awareness. The more we understand ourselves, the more empowered we become to create healthier relationships.

I’d love to hear your thoughts. Have you ever noticed yourself pulling away—or chasing—when relationships feel uncertain?

🥚 Are eggs really bad for your cholesterol?

This is one of the most common nutrition myths, and the answer may surprise you.

For many years, eggs were blamed for raising cholesterol. However, current research shows that for most healthy people, eating eggs in moderation does not significantly increase blood cholesterol or the risk of heart disease.

Eggs are a nutrient-dense food that provide:
✔️ High-quality protein
✔️ Choline for brain health
✔️ Vitamin B12
✔️ Vitamin D
✔️ Other essential vitamins and minerals

Remember, your overall eating pattern and lifestyle have a much greater impact on heart health than any single food.

That said, if you have diabetes, familial hypercholesterolemia, or very high LDL cholesterol, your nutrition recommendations may be different. A personalized approach is always best.

💬 We’d love to hear from you! Do you eat eggs regularly, or have you been avoiding them because of cholesterol? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

You’re Bloated… Now What?

Bloating is something many people experience, but it’s important to remember that it’s a symptom, not a diagnosis.

It isn’t always caused by the last thing you ate. Eating too quickly, constipation, stress, hormonal changes, dehydration, and certain food intolerances can all contribute to bloating.

Instead of immediately eliminating foods from your diet, take a step back and look for patterns:
✔️ When does the bloating happen?
✔️ Does it occur after certain meals?
✔️ Is it worse during times of stress?
✔️ Does it happen around your menstrual cycle?

Understanding why you’re bloated is the first step toward finding the right solution.

If bloating is frequent, severe, or accompanied by symptoms such as persistent abdominal pain, vomiting, blood in the stool, or unexplained weight loss, it’s important to speak with your healthcare provider.

💬 We’d love to hear from you: What tends to trigger bloating for you, certain foods, stress, or something else? Share your experience in the comments.

🌿 Sunday Reset: Small Habits. Calm Mind. Nourished Body.

Before a new week begins, give yourself permission to pause.

We often think we need to completely overhaul our lives to feel healthier or less stressed. In reality, lasting change usually comes from small, consistent habits that fit into our everyday lives.

A simple Sunday reset can help you feel more prepared, more grounded, and less overwhelmed as Monday approaches.

Here are a few ideas to try today:

🥗 Wash and prep fruits and vegetables for the week.
🍗 Cook a healthy protein to make meals easier.
💧 Fill your water bottle and make hydration a priority.
📝 Write down your top priorities for tomorrow.
🙏 Take a moment to reflect on what you’re grateful for.
📵 Put your phone away a little earlier this evening.
😴 Aim for a good night’s sleep.

Remember, your goal isn’t perfection.

Your goal is to create routines that are realistic, sustainable, and kind to yourself.

At NPC Mental Health & Nutrition, we believe that caring for your body and caring for your mind are equally important. When nutrition and mental wellness work together, healthy habits become easier to maintain.

💚 We’d love to hear from you:

What is ONE thing you’re doing today to reset for the week ahead?

🌙 Saturday Evening Reflection

As the week comes to a close, many of us carry unfinished to-do lists, difficult conversations, and the weight of expectations into the weekend.

But healing doesn’t happen when we’re constantly pushing ourselves.

Sometimes, healing begins when we pause.

Take a moment tonight to ask yourself:

✨ What challenged me this week?
✨ What am I proud of?
✨ What can I release that is no longer serving me?
✨ What do I need to feel rested before a new week begins?

You don’t have to solve everything tonight.

You don’t have to have all the answers.

You don’t have to be productive every moment to be worthy.

Your mental and emotional well-being deserve the same care and attention that you give to everyone else.

As you prepare for a new week, remember:

💚 Rest is productive.
💚 Boundaries are healthy.
💚 Self-compassion is a strength—not a weakness.

Tonight, choose peace over pressure.

I’d love to hear from you:

What’s one thing you’re letting go of from this week, and one thing you’re looking forward to next week?

Share below—we grow stronger when we support one another.

Have a peaceful evening. 🌿

🌿 Small choices today create a stronger tomorrow.

When we think about healthy eating, it’s easy to believe we need to make dramatic changes. But lasting health isn’t built through perfection—it’s built through consistency.

Every balanced meal, every glass of water, every walk around the block, and every moment you choose to care for yourself adds up over time.

This weekend, focus on the basics:
🥗 Fill your plate with colorful vegetables.
💪 Include protein to keep you satisfied.
🌾 Choose foods rich in fiber.
🥑 Don’t forget healthy fats.
💧 Stay hydrated.

Remember, nourishment isn’t about following a perfect diet. It’s about giving your body what it needs, while making room for flexibility, enjoyment, and real life.

💕 This week, I want to ask you something:

What’s ONE healthy choice you’re making for yourself this weekend?

It could be:
• Cooking a balanced meal at home
• Drinking more water
• Going for a walk
• Getting enough sleep
• Taking a break without feeling guilty

Share your answer in the comments—I’d love to celebrate your wins with you! 🌱

If this post encouraged you, please like, share, or save it for later. Someone in your life might need this reminder today.

Why do we keep saying “yes” when our heart is telling us to say “no”?

For many people, it isn’t because they don’t know how to set boundaries.

It’s because saying “no” can feel uncomfortable. We worry about disappointing others, creating conflict, or being seen as selfish.

But constantly putting everyone else’s needs before your own comes at a cost. Over time, it can lead to stress, resentment, emotional exhaustion, and even burnout.

Healthy boundaries aren’t walls that push people away.

They’re guidelines that help us protect our time, energy, and emotional well-being while building relationships based on honesty, respect, and trust.

The next time you’re about to say “yes,” pause for a moment and ask yourself:

“Am I saying yes because I truly want to—or because I’m afraid of saying no?”

That simple question can help you make choices that honor both yourself and your relationships.

💙 I’d love to hear from you:
Do you struggle more with saying “no,” or with accepting “no” from others?

Share your thoughts below, and if this message resonated with you, consider sharing it with someone who might need the reminder today.
