We are excited to welcome Dr. Lorenzo Stampone, OD to our practice!
Dr. Stampone earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry, graduating with academic distinction and a strong commitment to clinical excellence. He also received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, magna cm laude, from Seton Hall University.
Dr. Stampone brings extensive clinical training and experience in primary eye care, ocular disease management, specialty contact lenses, and myopia management. During his advanced clinical externships at SUNY Optometry’s University Eye Center, the Lyons VA Medical Center, and Miller Ophthalmology, he conducted over 1,400 comprehensive eye examinations on diverse patient populations and worked closely alongside both optometrists and ophthalmologists in collaborative care settings.
He has developed particular expertise in fitting complex specialty contact lenses for patients with keratoconus and irregular corneas, post-surgical corneal conditions, and degenerative myopia. Dr. Stampone is highly experienced in scleral lenses, gas permeable lenses, hybrid lenses, pediatric aphakic fittings, and modern myopia management treatments including orthokeratology, MiSight contact lenses, atropine therapy, and specialty spectacle lens designs.
In addition to his clinical care experience, Dr. Stampone is proficient in advanced diagnostic technology including OCT imaging, corneal topography, Pentacam imaging, visual field analysis, retinal imaging, and dry eye treatment technologies. He also has experience managing pre- and post-operative cataract and refractive surgery patients.
Throughout optometry school, Dr. Stampone demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to the profession, serving as President of the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians (NJSOP) chapter at SUNY Optometry. He has been recognized with numerous honors and awards for clinical excellence, leadership, patient care, and service, including the Johnson & Johnson Excellence Award for Clinical Contact Lens Patient Care and the Pace Setter Award for Excellence in Primary Care.
Dr. Stampone is passionate about providing compassionate, personalized eye care and is committed to helping patients achieve their best possible vision and ocular health.
