We are officially less than TWO WEEKS away from our 28th Annual North Fork Breast Health Coalition 5K Walk! 💗

This is one of those mornings that is just better when you bring people with you.

Bring your family. Bring your friends. Bring your coworkers. Put a team together or simply come walk alongside a community that continues to show up for local breast cancer patients and their families.

A new treatment option is on the horizon for some people with advanced breast cancer.

The FDA has granted accelerated approval to Etcamah (camizestrant) for certain people with HR-positive/HER2-negative advanced breast cancer whose tumors develop resistance (an ESR1 mutation) during treatment.

The approval is based on the Phase 3 SERENA-6 trial, led by BCRF researcher Dr. Nicholas Turner, which found longer progression-free survival with Etcamah (camizestrant) plus a CDK4/6 inhibitor. The trial used ctDNA blood testing to detect treatment resistance before it could be seen on standard imaging.

Today, we remember.

We remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We remember the families whose lives were changed forever.

We remember the courage of the first responders, the helpers, and the countless people who came together in the days and weeks that followed.

Today reminds us of the strength of community, the importance of showing up for one another, and how deeply an act of kindness can matter during the hardest moments.

Today and every day, we, honor those we lost, those who served, and all those who continue to carry the memories of that day.

We will never forget.

Camizestrant (Etcamah) with a CDK4/6 inhibitor is now approved in the U.S. for hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer with an ESR1 mutation. Backed by results from the SERENA-6 trial, which used ctDNA testing to detect emerging ESR1 mutations before cancer progression on a scan.

Because what happens around those three miles matters just as much as the miles themselves.

✔️The smiles.

✔️The hugs.

✔️The friendships.

✔️The people walking beside someone they love.

✔️The survivors seeing familiar faces.

✔️The families who feel supported.

✔️The community that keeps showing up, year after year.

And then there is everything the walk helps make possible long after the morning is over.

Programs, services and resources for local breast cancer patients.

Yoga, acupuncture, reflexology, massage, strength for life, education and outreach.

Support for Stage IV breast cancer research.

That is why this walk has always been about so much more than crossing a finish line.

On Sunday, September 27, our community will come together once again at Tanger Outlets in Riverhead.

Some will walk for themselves. Some will walk for someone they love. Some will walk in memory of someone they miss. And some will simply walk because they believe showing up matters.

Every one of those reasons belongs there. 💗

September is here. And maybe this is the month you let someone take care of you, too. 💗

When you’re going through breast cancer treatment, recovering from it, or living with the changes that come after, there is so much focus on appointments, tests and getting through the next thing.

But feeling supported matters too.

The North Fork Breast Health Coalition offers complimentary wellness services designed to give local breast cancer patients and survivors a little more support along the way.

This September, services include:

💗 Reflexology
💗 Reiki
💗 Strength for Life
💗 Meditation

Sometimes it’s an hour to breathe.

Sometimes it’s help easing tension or discomfort.

Sometimes it’s simply being in a space where you don’t have to explain what you’re going through.

These services are here for our breast cancer community because support should extend beyond the doctor’s office.
