Red, White, Blue... and Cardboard! 🛶

This past weekend, EEDA's LEEP team made a splash at the Downtown Riverhead Cardboard Boat Race by designing, building, and racing an incredible patriotic cardboard boat!

A huge congratulations to Cale and Kelly, who bravely took to the bay and paddled their way to victory, earning the Outlaw Race Championship for Team EEDA! 🏆

More than just a race, this event is a reminder of what community inclusion is all about. From planning and building to cheering from the shoreline, our team was part of one of Riverhead's favorite summer traditions. We are proud to celebrate creativity, teamwork, and the opportunity for people of all abilities to participate, contribute, and shine alongside our neighbors.

Congratulations to everyone who helped make this adventure a success. We couldn't be prouder to be part of the vibrant fabric of the Riverhead community!

Grab your boots, dust off your cowboy hat, and join us for a day of laughter, great food, fun activities, music, and unforgettable memories.

This special day is all about celebrating the amazing individuals we support, their families, our incredible EEDA staff, and the community that makes it all possible. We can't wait to come together, make new memories, and enjoy some good old-fashioned country fun.

🎆🇺🇸 What an incredible day in downtown Riverhead!

EEDA was proud to be one of nearly 50 floats and community groups celebrating America 250 in the Town of Riverhead July 4th parade! From waving flags and sharing smiles to celebrating alongside our neighbors, it was a day filled with community spirit, pride, and joy.

We were especially proud to see the people we support taking part in this historic celebration, because strong communities include everyone. ❤️🤍💙

A huge thank you to EEDA’s CAP, LEEP, Riverhead Day Hab and Calverton Day Hab for designing and creating such a fantastic float! Thanks also to everyone who walked with us, cheered us on, volunteered, and helped make our float such a success. It was a wonderful reminder that when we come together, we create something truly special.

As our nation celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States, EEDA is proud to celebrate alongside the Town of Riverhead, Suffolk County, communities across New York, and the entire nation. Guided by our vision of "a world where every person is embraced and valued by society," our mission of "fulfilling dreams, elevating voices, and cultivating unique potential for people of all abilities," and the values that define "The EEDA Way," America 250 reminds us that the story of our country is strongest when every person is included, respected, and empowered to thrive.

Join EEDA at the Riverhead Fourth of July Parade!

We're excited to share that EEDA will once again be participating in the Riverhead Fourth of July Parade with our very own float, and we'd love for our EEDA family to come out and celebrate with us!

The parade starts at 11:00 a.m. in the heart of Downtown Riverhead and promises to be a wonderful community celebration filled with patriotic spirit, local organizations, music, and fun.

Interested in walking alongside the EEDA float? We still have a limited number of spots available for participants, family members, staff, and friends who would like to join us (lineup is at 9:45 a.m.).

Thank you for being part of the 2026 EEDA Social: A Party with a Purpose! Seeing so many friends, families, and community partners gathered in one place was a great reminder of what we can accomplish together. We celebrated inclusion, recognized extraordinary honorees, and invested in opportunities for people of all abilities.
