End Alzheimer's đź’śSUPPORT THE CAUSE TO END ALZHEIMER'S & AWARENESS OF DEMENTIAđź’ś

đź’śđź’śSomeone once said if you take care of someone with dementia you lose them more and more everyday. When they get the diagnosis, when they go through different stages, when they need treatment and when they pass away. This is called "ambiguous loss".
As the brain slowly dies, they change physically and eventually forget who their loved ones are. They could end up lying in bed, not moving and not eating or drinking.
There will be people who will scroll past this post because Dementia has not touched them. They may not know what it's like to have a loved one who has battled or is still battling dementia.
To raise awareness of this cruel disease, I would like my friends to put this on their page today. Hold your finger on the post to copy and paste to your timeline.
A special thank you to anyone willing to put this on their timeline for Alzheimer Awareness Week! đź’śđź’ś

💜Sundowning is a common symptom in people living with dementia where confusion, anxiety, restlessness, or agitation increases in the late afternoon or evening. As the sun goes down, changes in lighting, fatigue, and disruptions in the body’s internal clock can make it harder for the brain to process surroundings, which may lead to pacing, mood changes, or trouble sleeping. It’s not intentional behavior—it’s the disease affecting the brain. A calm environment, soft lighting, familiar routines, and reassurance can help ease this time of day for both the person living with dementia and their loved ones. Have you experienced sundowning with someone you care for? What signs do you notice most in the evenings? What strategies have helped bring comfort or calm during that time? Let’s share and support one another. 💜

I went and met my husbands aunt today for the first time and she has Alzheimer’s. My husband not knowing much about the disease left with more questions than answers. So as we’re having the conversation I thought how so many ppl lump the two together not knowing there is a difference. By the way.. we had a great visit 💕🥰.

💕Memories bring up a lot of emotions. Some I wish not to bare but after fighting back the tears in the end I’m smiling because I remember her her laugh, her spirit and her hugs. Missing my grandma.🤗💕

Thankful for all the beautiful memories, though I wish there were more…💗
