Riverside National Cemetery - A Flag For Every Hero Please assist us/Honoring Our Fallen Inc. in providing a flag for every hero....http://www.honoringourfallen.org
(245)

Honoring Our Fallen seeks volunteers to assist in purchasing and placing flags out on gravesites at Riverside National Cemetery for Memorial Day. Riverside National Cemetery is the only national cemetery in the Southern California area that has no organized effort to do this. The sheer size of the cemetery (225,000+ gravesites) makes it virtually impossible for the cemetery to fund such a program. The public is welcome to participate in placing flags out on gravesites for Memorial Day; however, the cemetery requires it to be done at the volunteer’s sole expense. Here is an example of the impact your gift will have to help each and every gravesite proudly display an 8” x 12” US flag this Memorial Day.

• $100 gift will purchase 100 flags
• $250 gift will purchase 250 flags
• $500 gift will purchase 500 flags
• $1000 gift will purchase 1000 flags

Our service members have dedicated their lives to protecting this great country we live in. Your gift will have a significant impact on helping us to honor these men and women this Memorial Day by placing a flag on their gravesite. Thank you for partnering with us to show support for our service members, past and present! Donations can be made online at www.honoringourfallen.org or mailed to:

Thank you all for your support!!!!

What a fantastic group of volunteers we have year after year!

Thank you for coming to place the flags at Riverside National Cemetery. We appreciate each and every one of you for taking the time today to honor our service members by placing flags on this hallowed ground.

In record time, over 270,000 flags were placed before 10:30 this morning!

A special thank you to our team leaders who help prepare everything for your arrival, as well as to our volunteers who work on repairing any flags that need attention. It truly takes a village, and we are grateful for each of you.

For Tuesday, please join us. We can enter the cemetery at sunrise when the gates open. We ask that you collect the flags in bundles of 10 to 15, roll them up, and secure them with a rubber band.

There will be rubber bands and crates available for this purpose.

Please come by on your way to work, even if you can only spare an hour. Thank you in advance for your time!
