Domestic violence is often treated as a private problem. But when a survivor needs housing, healthcare, childcare, financial independence, legal protection, or a safe place to go, the consequences are public.
The person causing violence is responsible for the violence. The systems surrounding that violence still matter.
What happens when someone asks for help?
Who believes her?
Who has resources?
Who has nowhere to go?
Violence does not become smaller because it happens inside a home.
Naming the harm is not cynicism. It’s clarity. ✦
