Yesterday we held a ribbon cutting at Daydream to unveil the new wellness lounge and officially plant roots in Riverview now that the studio is in full operation ✨ I was so honored to be recognized by Senator Camilleri in this special tribute. I was not expecting this at all. It’s a long read but it means so incredibly much to me if you want to take the time to read it. Thank you so much, downriver, for your trust in me. Some of you may be wondering why we’re having a ribbon cutting today when Daydream Bodywork has already been operating out of our building on Fort Street for the past year. And honestly, I think it’s important to share the story behind it. 🩷

Daydream has always been built one step at a time, entirely by me (and God)

I don’t have investors. I don’t have business loans. Everything you see inside this building has been purchased with money that I’ve worked hard to earn and save. Every improvement, every piece of equipment, every little detail has come from the work I do and the money that I’ve put back into this dream.

It took time to save for the beautiful sign you see on Fort Street. It took time to purchase the sauna, the hydromassage table, and all the little details that make this space what it is today. I couldn’t do a ribbon cutting when I first opened this building because I had to bring the vision to life first.

And that’s okay. Because I’m building something that belongs to me, one hard earned step at a time.

I’ve worked my butt off to get here, and I’m incredibly proud of what Daydream has become. What started as a Pinterest board has grown into something so much bigger than even massage therapy. It’s become a place where people can slow down, feel cared for, and find a little peace in the middle of their busy lives.

So today, we’re celebrating a new chapter. 🤍

Daydream Bodywork is officially unveiling our new Wellness Lounge~

This private wellness room is available to rent by the hour, giving you time to relax and recharge by yourself or with a friend, and enjoy amenities like our hydromassage table and sauna. It’s a simple and beautiful space created to allow our community more access to peace, quiet, and rest.

Every time you walk through these doors, I hope you’ll notice something new, something improved, or another little detail I’ve added with love. I have so many ideas for the future and as long as I’m able, I’ll keep investing in this business and finding new ways to serve you.

So although this ribbon cutting may be a little overdue, it means just as much to me, if not more, because of everything it took to get here.

Stop in today at 4:00 PM as we celebrate the unveiling of the new Wellness Lounge! A new service menu will drop on the website at 4pm as well. Come see what I’ve been working on, and celebrate this milestone! If you do pop in, I’ll put your name in a raffle for a free hour in the new room.

To everyone who has supported Daydream over the past four years, booked an appointment, referred a friend, shared a post, or simply cheered me on along the way - thank you. You have helped make this dream possible, and I will never take that for granted.

Here’s to continuing to grow, continuing to dream, and continuing to bring a little more peace to our community for many years to come! ✨

This week, the Mayor of Riverview will be stopping by to cut a ribbon in celebration of opening the brand new private wellness studio inside of Daydream, thoughtfully created for our community. 💛

Daydream has always been about more than massage. We are a wellness and bodywork boutique dedicated to creating a private space where you can slow down, recharge, and prioritize yourself while receiving advanced quality care for your body and rest for your mind.

I want to take a moment to speak from the heart about something that happened yesterday involving Daydream Bodywork.

As the owner of Daydream, I try very hard to be a positive part of my community. I help people in ways that I don’t always talk about, because I don’t do those things for recognition. I don’t need to make a list of every good deed or every person I’ve helped. I simply hope that the people who walk through my doors can feel how much I care about them and how much I love what I do.

That is why I was deeply disheartened by allegations made yesterday about me and my business regarding an old gift card.

An individual contacted me regarding a gift card that was purchased approximately three years ago and had never been redeemed. They stated that they had previously been unable to reach me and that my website was not working. I cannot speak to their personal experience, but I can speak to how my business operates.

Daydream Bodywork is a one person business. I am the only person who works here. My voicemail clearly explains that, and directs clients to my website for booking. My clients primarily book online, and my booking system is an important part of how I am able to run my business while also providing one on one care to every person who comes through my door.

When I was contacted about this gift card, I explained that I do not exchange gift cards for cash or provide refunds for gift cards. However, despite the amount of time that had passed, I was willing to honor the gift card by providing the massage that had originally been purchased.

That offer was not accepted. The request was for the money instead.

I want to be very clear that this is not about refusing to help someone. I was willing to provide the service. It was simply a matter of maintaining a business boundary regarding gift cards and refunds.

I understand that not every person will agree with every policy I have, and I understand that people can be disappointed. But being disappointed by a business policy does not make that business dishonest, uncaring, or unwilling to help.

Daydream Bodywork is something I have poured an enormous amount of myself into. I work hard. I care deeply about the people I serve. I try to make every person who comes through my doors feel comfortable, cared for, and valued. I am constantly trying to improve what I offer and find ways to give back to the people around me.

At the same time, I am learning that caring about people does not mean I have to abandon every boundary I have as a business owner.

One difficult interaction doesn’t define this business and one persons experience does not erase the experiences of the many people who have trusted me with their care over the years.

I will continue to be kind. I will continue to help where I can. I will continue to stand behind my business and its policies. And I will continue to pour my heart into Daydream Bodywork and the people who trust me with their care.

To everyone who supports Daydream, leaves a kind review, trusts me with their care, refers family or friends, whoever has walked through my door and allowed me to take care of you, whoever has so much as thought of myself and my business fondly, thank you.

You are the reason I keep doing this.
