Christine “Chris” Marie Kingrea, 68, of Gordonsville, Virginia, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026.
Born on August 16, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Junior Johnson and Francoise Marie Powers.
Chris had an extraordinary love for animals, caring for each one with patience, tenderness, and devotion. She spent countless hours feeding, nurturing, and forming special bonds with them. Beyond her care for animals, Chris found great joy in the beauty of the mountains, the peaceful rhythm of gardening, and the warmth of baking for those she loved. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family, creating lasting memories filled with laughter, love, and togetherness.
Chris is survived by her significant other, Walter Harris; her kids, Marlena “Marcy” Marshall (Joe), Amy Bucher (Matt), Brandon Harris (Kaylee), and Shane Harris (Lexi); her sisters, Mary Longmire (Carl), Patricia Everly (Kenneth); and her grandchildren, Hunter Marshall, Camden Marshall, Alayna Marshall, Jacob Bucher, Emma Bucher, Colton Harris, Marissa Serner, Wyatt Hall, and Blaire Harris.
Memorial services will be private.
