The 24-25 EACC Go-Kart Team has been working hard this past month and got the opportunity to test their skills on the track at Purdue today! 🏁
The "Test & Tune" session was a fantastic learning experience for them to be around the other teams, get the kart dialed in and race ready, and put Mr. Springer's classroom instruction to the test!🏎️

Our CAP Council had a busy day knocking doors for Labor-friendly candidates and running for charity. Shout out to Amy Rudd for launching our labor walk today, to LG candidate Terry Goodin and the guys of Grant/Wabash CAP Council for coming out, and to Darryl Esterline of SMART Local 20 for volunteering their Union Hall.

Huge shout out to Vice Chair Amy Rudd for representing all 50,000 UAW members in Indiana at the Statehouse yesterday for the Roads & Transportation Committee hearing, as we work to obtain a UAW specialty license plate to benefit the UAW Region 2B Gosser Scholarship Program. Thank you to the Indiana AFL-CIOs Uno Blessed and Donny Jones (both UAW members) for showing up to support the cause alongside our UAW Region 2B Indiana CAP Rep, Danny Ernstes.

There is no organization in Fort Wayne that is more deserving of our support. Thank you to League for the Blind and Disabled for all of their community support and involvement.

The Greater Allen County UAW CAP Council presented a $5,000 check to The League this week for continued outdoor landscaping projects and an accessible bus project. We are very thankful for the UAW CAP Council and their continued support of our mission as a community partner. This gift will help us continue to provide services and improvements for our consumers.

Our CAP Council was well represented at the 4th Annual UAW Region 2B Indiana State CAP/SAC Convention, where we focused on issues that impact working families and how we make a difference in the lives of our members and all working people. Shout out to UAW Local 2209, UAW Local 3055, our Vice Chairperson Amy Rudd for her work as the Rules Committee Chairperson, and Chairperson Amanda Meier for her work as the Bylaws Committee Chair.

We were out at the 4th Annual UAW Local 2209 Civil & Human Rights Committee Car Show at the Fort Wayne Urban League on Saturday doing voter registration. Thank you to our Legislative Liaison, Phil Ratkos, Financial Secretary, DeAnna Watson, and Trustee Dustin Riley for spending their Saturday helping register voters and answering questions. Shout out to all the volunteers who make this event happen every year!

We are always happy to show our love and appreciation for the work the League for the Blind and Disabled does supporting people with disabilities in our community.

This week we received an awesome gift from the Greater Allen County UAW CAP Council. They chose The League for their "Day of Service." Volunteers assisted with a lot of projects: Caulking & Sealing Gaps along our building and roof; Caulked and Patched the gutters; Sealed Downspouts; Rerouted water drainage away from the building; Weeded our flower beds; and trimmed our treeline behind the building. We are pleased to be a recipient of their volunteerism. We love the partnership we have developed with them over the years. Thank you again for your assistance.
