You will perform important day-to-day duties within the company. This position is instrumental in preparing items for all the services we provide. This is a part-time, hourly position — Monday through Sunday, hours vary.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ragnar, Oakey’s beloved grief therapy dog from 2018-2025. Ragnar’s impact on our staff, client families, and community has been enormous and we will miss him so very much. All are invited to come between 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, May 17th at Oakey’s South Chapel, to celebrate Ragnar’s life and visit in a relaxed setting with others touched by him. Come as you are and be ready for some ice cream, Ragnar’s indulgence of choice. In the meantime, Ragnar’s obituary is included here for all to read.

We're loving the new Oakey's Pet Funeral Home & Crematory logo!

We’re thrilled to introduce our new logo! We wanted a design that’s simpler to reproduce — clean, classic, and timeless. Inspired by our parent company, Oakey’s, we incorporated the same green from the Oakey’s leaf and the oval shape from their logo. This new logo reflects tradition, quality, and the deep commitment and love that Oakey’s and its family of companies have for the Roanoke Valley.

We had a good time at the Vinton Area Chamber of Commerce Senior Expo today. Oakey's Vinton Chapel Manager, Larry Joines and Lorraine Cunningham, from Oakey's Advance Planning, enjoyed meeting local folks at William Byrd Middle School.

This free event featured over 75 vendors offering resources for seniors, caregivers, and families, including health screenings, assisted living, and community services.
