National Assisted Living Week was an absolute success in September! We spent the week “Shining Through the Years of the 1950’s” and we want to give a huge THANK YOU to all our residents, families, staff and volunteers who brought the fifties to life. Highlights included a classic car show, rockabilly concert with the Ron Downing band, retro Photo Booth, sock hop, Family Feud and Jumbo Bowling. Many wonderful memories were made!

🐾🌧️ Rainy day remedy = 100% Kitten therapy at the NRC!
The kitten therapy was such a massive hit today! Our residents, staff, and visitors all fell completely in love with them. In fact, a visitor loved them so much they already took two home! It was pure kitten magic and a wonderful day of furbabies finding their forever homes. ❤️

The Brandon Oaks Golf Tournament is back!

After a few years away, we're excited to bring back this special tradition for its 31st year! Join us on November 2 at Roanoke Country Club for a great day on the course while supporting an even greater cause.

Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Brandon Oaks Auxiliary Fund, which helps provide meaningful extras for our residents of our Nursing & Rehab Center and Memory Support communities-including enhanced staff training, social gatherings, music therapy, special activities and more.

Our community is still buzzing after an unforgettable week journeying through Psalm 23! 🇮🇪 From exploring a simulated Irish countryside to watching the family movie The Sheep Detectives, our NRC adventurers had the absolute best time.

This week long activity full of adventure and fellowship was funded by the wonderful Brandon Oaks Auxiliary.

We are incredibly blessed by our dedicated chaplains here at Brandon Oaks! Thank you for pouring so much love, leadership, and energy into making this week so impactful for our residents, staff, volunteers and families. You are true shepherds!

After a year of renovations, we were thrilled to welcome our residents back into these beautiful spaces to celebrate! We gathered in our larger, renovated auditorium, the new 1993 Social House and outdoor patio for an evening filled with live music, craft cocktails, amazing food and dessert. It was the perfect way to celebrate these new spaces and the people who make Brandon Oaks home!

Our BOSS (Brandon Oaks Strong Seniors) program recently hosted a fun wellness event focused on the many areas that contribute to a healthy, fulfilling life. Staff hosted tables highlighting everything from physical and environmental wellness to spiritual, social and emotional wellbeing. It was a great opportunity to connect residents with all the resources and services available to them.

Our 2nd Golden Acorn recipient was Ann. Ann’s wish was for an afternoon of chicks and comfort. Thank you to the Little Critters Traveling Petting Zoo, LLC for bringing some baby chicks out for Ann to spend some time cuddling with. For lunch, comfort food from her favorite restaurant-Olive Garden! Spaghetti and meatballs, unlimited breadsticks, salad and topped off with cheesecake for dessert.
