At Brandon Oaks, we believe every resident has a story still being written and moments waiting to be made. Staff at the NRC created the Golden Acorn-a tradition dedicated to helping our community’s dreams bloom. Residents are nominated by families, staff and visitors to have a special wish granted. Their wish may be enjoying a favorite meal, completing a project or visiting a cherished place.
Our very first Golden Acorn recipient was Jane, whose wish companion was our Lead Admin Asst, Judy. Jane’s wish was a day of pampering. She enjoyed a professional shampoo and style, manicure, shopping at Hamrick’s and Kroger for some treats, and dinner at Rodeo Grande. More than a day out, it was a reminder that every person deserves to feel celebrated, seen, and deeply valued.

During National Skilled Nursing Week, we had a special afternoon with special visitors! Our residents and staff loved spending time with the babies from Little Critters Traveling Petting Zoo, LLC and Sweet Revenge Truck made the day even sweeter with delicious treats for all to enjoy. You must try their waffle wands! Thank you for making this time so memorable and we can’t wait to welcome them back in the Fall!

We recently gathered for a special dedication ceremony honoring current and long time resident Billie Murphree. For more than a decade, Billie generously volunteered her time and talents to beautify our gardens and green spaces, leaving a lasting impact on our community. In recognition of her dedication, our cutting and picking garden now proudly bears her name. Residents and staff are encouraged to enjoy the garden’s seasonal flowers, continuing the spirit of sharing and beauty that Billie helped cultivate for many years.
