There's something meaningful about caring for the community you call home.
Solace Hospice Care was created to serve patients and families throughout our area with compassionate, personal end-of-life care, and to be a resource long before a family ever needs our services.

We're continuing to grow, build relationships and become more involved in the community around us.

Because to us, these aren't simply communities on a service map. 💙 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆'𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗯𝗼𝗿𝘀.

Grief can make us uncomfortable. Not because we don't care, but because we worry about saying the wrong thing.

You don't need the perfect words.

A simple “I'm thinking of you,” a favorite memory, a meal left at the door, or simply sitting beside someone can mean more than trying to make their grief disappear.

And remember: 𝘨𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘧 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴𝘯'𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘯 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘦. Continue checking in after the funeral, after the cards stop arriving and after everyone else has returned to their routines.

Sometimes the greatest gift we can offer is simply our 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. 💛

“𝘋𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦?” 💛 No.

Hospice care is often provided wherever a patient calls home. Whether that's a private residence, assisted living community, nursing facility or another care setting.

Rather than requiring a patient to continually travel somewhere for care, members of the hospice team come to the patient based on their individualized needs and plan of care.

For many families, that means more time together in familiar surroundings and support navigating care at home.

Hospice care isn't provided by just 𝘰𝘯𝘦 person.

It's a team approach designed to care for the whole person — physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs included.

Depending on a patient's individualized plan of care, that team may include nurses, hospice aides, physicians, social workers, spiritual care providers, volunteers and other professionals.

Each role looks a little different, but everyone shares the same goal: helping the patient remain as comfortable and supported as possible while also caring for the family walking alongside them.

Today is 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗲 & 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆. A day dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding of hospice and palliative care around the world.

For us, it's also a reminder of why this work matters.

Every person deserves to be treated with dignity. Every family deserves support. And every patient deserves care that considers not only their diagnosis, but their comfort, wishes and quality of life.

We're grateful for the privilege of providing that care to families throughout our community. 💛

One of the hardest parts of hospice can simply be not knowing what happens next.
A hospice referral doesn't mean everything suddenly changes overnight. It starts a conversation.

Our team takes time to answer questions, learn about the patient's needs and determine what support may be appropriate. If hospice care begins, an individualized plan is created around the patient and family.

There is room for questions throughout the 𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘳𝘦 process. 💛

𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 “𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵” 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘴𝘬 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘦?

Often, the conversation can begin sooner than families realize. Increased hospital visits, changes in daily abilities, worsening symptoms, or a shift from curative treatment toward comfort may all be reasons to start asking questions.

And asking about hospice doesn't mean you're committing to it. It simply gives your family an opportunity to learn what support may be available and make an informed decision.
