On June 3, 2026, Joel L. Young, MD, had the pleasure and privilege of serving as the discussant for the Grand Rounds presentation delivered by Benjamin Young, MD, a graduating resident physician in the Wayne State University Department of Psychiatry.
Dr. Young presented an outstanding Grand Rounds entitled "The Psychiatrist's Role in the Use of GLP Medications: Implications for Metabolism and Mental Health." His presentation highlighted the growing importance of psychiatrists in addressing the complex relationship between metabolic health, obesity, psychopharmacology, and mental well-being.
As both a mentor and discussant, it was a particularly proud moment to participate in such an excellent academic presentation. Dr. Ben Young demonstrated the clinical insight, intellectual curiosity, and professionalism that will undoubtedly serve him well throughout his career.
We congratulate Ben Young, MD, as he completes his psychiatry residency and begins the next chapter of his training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Miami. We wish him every success as he continues his journey toward becoming an outstanding child and adolescent psychiatrist.
Congratulations, Ben—we are proud of your accomplishments and excited to see all that lies ahead.
