Wednesday , September 9th is Low-Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer (LGSOC) Awareness Day! 🩵

LGSOC is a rare form of ovarian cancer that often impacts younger women and responds differently to standard treatments. Because it receives far less research funding, spreading the word is vital to advancing treatments and saving lives.

3 Ways You Can Take Action:
🩵 Wear Teal: Put on teal—the official color of ovarian cancer awareness—and show your support!
🩵 Spread the Word: Know and share the key warning signs:
* Persistent bloating
* Pelvic or abdominal pain
* Feeling full quickly when eating
* Changes in bowel or bladder habits
🩵 Support the Cause: Join us for our upcoming fundraiser Stronger Together: Movement for Ovarian Cancer Research on Saturday, September 26th— 10-11:30AM.

September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, and we’re coming together for a cause that hits close to home for our community. 🩵
Join us for Stronger Together: Movement for Ovarian Cancer Research, a special 90-minute Yoga and Strength Training Sampler Class in partnership with the STAAR Ovarian Cancer Foundation.

This event holds deep meaning for our team. Our yoga instructor, Linda Pruss, has a daughter, Victoria, who worked right here at our center during nursing school before becoming a Corewell Health nurse. Last year, Victoria was diagnosed with Low-Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer (LGSOC)—a rare form of ovarian cancer that disproportionately impacts younger women. Victoria recently shared her story on the LGSOC Initiative website and was featured on a Times Square billboard for World Ovarian Cancer Day on May 8th.
Let’s honor Victoria’s journey, support all those affected, and move together to raise awareness and research funds!
