Today our residents enjoyed a meaningful outing to the old Paint Creek Cider Mill in Goodson, where they explored the fascinating Underground Railroad in Oakland County exhibition.

The inspiring displays sparked thoughtful conversations as residents learned about the courageous individuals and local communities that helped freedom seekers on their journey.

After taking in the exhibit, everyone gathered to enjoy delicious pastries and sweet treats MKCannelle- the perfect ending to a wonderful afternoon filled with history, friendship, and a little indulgence.

We love creating opportunities for our residents to learn, explore, and make lasting memories together. ❤️🍎🥐

Celebrating the amazing people who make Waltonwood feel like home! 💛

Today we took a little time to celebrate our incredible team with a Staff Appreciation Day filled with fun, creativity, treats, and a little June cheer! 🌞

From tie-dye creations and snacks to games, prizes, and lots of laughter, it was our chance to say thank you to the dedicated staff who go above and beyond for our residents every single day. Your compassion, teamwork, and commitment are what make our community so special.

🐾 Seniors Helping Seniors 🐾

Every pet deserves a loving home—especially during their golden years. ❤️

Waltonwood is proud to partner with A Rejoyceful Animal Rescue as part of our Seniors Helping Seniors initiative!

Now through August 15, Waltonwood will cover the adoption fee for any senior pet (7+ years old) adopted through A Rejoyceful Animal Rescue.

Senior pets may have a little gray on their faces, but they have so much love left to give. They often wait the longest for a forever home, yet they make some of the most loyal, gentle, and grateful companions—especially for older adults.

Together, let’s help these deserving pets find the loving homes they deserve while giving our seniors the companionship, comfort, and joy that only a pet can provide. 🐶🐱💚

From now through August 18, all Waltonwood communities are proud to support Clear the Shelters through our Seniors Helping Seniors campaign.

Senior pets may be overlooked, but they have so much love to give. In fact, studies show that pet companionship can increase a senior’s sense of purpose by 73% and reduce stress by 79%—creating meaningful connections that benefit both people and pets.

This summer, Waltonwood is giving back by:
🐾 Sponsoring adoption fees for senior pets to help them find loving forever homes
🐾 Collecting pet food, toys, blankets, and other essentials for local rescue organizations
🐾 Hosting community events, volunteer opportunities, and fundraising efforts to support animal rescue

Our residents spent the afternoon planting beautiful flowers in the courtyard today, and the smiles were blooming right along with them! There’s something so special about getting your hands in the soil, enjoying the fresh air, and creating beauty together as a community.
