The Carriages of Rochester is having a blast celebrating National Assisted Living Week, and today’s Decades Day theme brought some serious nostalgia to our hallways.

Our team went all out dressing up to walk down memory lane with our residents.

Business Office Manager Diana channeled her inner hippie to take us on a trip back to the groovy 1960s.

High-energy 1980s style made a major comeback thanks to Community Relations Director Tanika and Housekeeper Britni, who rocked bright neon layers and leg warmers.

Rounding out the fun, Executive Director Jenni and Not so Retired Memory Care Activity Coordinator Kelley threw it back to the 1950s with classic poodle skirts and retro glasses.

Dressing up is always a fun way to spark great conversations, share stories, and bring extra laughter to our community. A huge thank you to our staff for putting so much creativity and joy into making this week special for everyone.

Well, we finally did it… we put on a REAL DOG & PONY SHOW! 🐶🐴😂
Okay, technically it was dogs and miniature horses, but during Assisted Living Week, we don’t get hung up on details!
Our four-legged visitors brought plenty of smiles, snuggles, laughs, and maybe a little drool. ❤️ There’s just something magical about watching our residents light up when animals come through the door.
Around here, when we say we’ll do just about anything to make our residents smile… we’re not horsin’ around! 🐴😉

Today for National Assisted Living Week was crazy hat/wig/hair day, and it was pure chaos in the best way possible!

Everyone went all out—staff and residents alike.

We had everything from bright curls and massive bows to some questionable visors.

Even Trixie, one of our resident pups, got into the spirit with her own party hat and tutu.Take a look at some of the highlights from today. It’s hard not to smile looking at these!
